A lovely old pier, still doing what it was designed to do from day one; give an impression of being "at sea" when actually on dry land. Penarth Pier Pavilion and Gallery is worth a detour, and also worth seeking out a parking spot when you get there. We had excellent service to coffee and delicious cake (one of which was spinach and pistachio - very good!) in interesting and very well thought out surroundings, a credit to the people who work to maintain it as such. We ate in the Gallery, probably the quieter side of the building. A walk to the end of the pier (access is free) was a joy (it was a sunny day!). Apart from the foreshore, there's not an awful lot of interest on this side of Penarth, but the Pier with its Pavilion is not to be missed!

Really nice and clean. Open enough for people to walk down or use wheelchairs. Seating in middle. Ice cream shops and food available. Loos located on the pier. Very chilled out atmosphere. Parking however is a total nightmare for the area

We always love going there, but am angry that we could not get out usual toasted ham and cheese sandwich because the cafe is now halal. I am not being critical of racist here, but we are in Britain and should not be told that. The council should look into this, as I am sure it contravenes regulations for a good outlet on council property to treat customers in this way.

Lovely for a stroll in the sunshine or fishing off the end of the pier. The views across the chañnel are fantastic on a clear day. Choose to eat outside from the take away chippy that serves a good range of food including childrens. They also sell hot/cold drinks and ice creams. There is also a cafe with inside or outside seating with a good menu choice. At the entrance to the pier is an old fashioned sweet shop, with an excellent range.

The Pavilion is a lovely place to visit but perhaps a bit rich for a commoner like myself. The surroundings are stunning and the Pier is a wonderful place to visit. Parking is almost a competitive sport in the area and things can get a bit Mad Max when there's three cars battling for one space.
