We were driving along the country lanes after arriving from New Zealand and came across this beauty! What a stunning spot with so much character and even better food. We had the creamy mushrooms and smoked haddock to start, delicious! Then for mains we couldn’t help but both order the Pork Belly, as it was so highly recommended by the manager Amy. It was incredible!!! I would buy a return flight from Auckland just to have it again. Great prices and wonderful cheerful staff. Will make sure we come again before we go. Thanks again!
Really lovely pub, lovely decor, busy, friendly staff, toilets smell really nice and the food was out standing. I had steak with chips, onion rings, mushroom, tomato and peas.... really tasty... followed by apple and blackberry crumble and ice cream... I am stuffed!! Reasonably priced too.
0h what fabulous food is served here! The food is home cooked including the sweets. The staff are very attentive, friendly and polite. I would absolutely recommend a visit
Excellent pub. Warm welcome from the landlord. Even our daughter's dog was given a warm welcome with some free biscuits and water! Menu was varied. Food was presented beautifully, it was hot and very tasty. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Lovely old black and white pub, nice ambience and character. We've been a couple of times since moving to the area and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Unfortunately on our last visit we had hoped to order food at lunch but were informed they were full, despite the fact we had already seated ourselves at an empty table and they absolutely weren't full and were supposedly serving for another hour. Slightly bizarre as I've never known a pub turn down a food order before. However, perhaps they were short staffed. The two stars gets knocked off for the rather surly manner of the staff member when informing us. Not the least friendly and frankly felt like she couldn't wait to be rid of us. Shame as staff on our other visits have been great.
Really lovely Sunday lunch. Met up with my brother and family. The staff here are really great and couldn't do enough for us. Well done Pembroke House you have lovely staff and great food keep up the good work.
Having had such a great experience last time with a Sunday lunch we booked again together with my uncle for a pre Christmas catch up. Thought it could not be any better than the last time but pembroke house you did it again. The ambiance, the service, the friendly welcome and above all the food, second to none. Your chef is obviously a very dedicated person who must be proud of every meal he sends out. Thank each and every one of you
First time here, & we were very impressed, the food was exceptional, service was good & very friendly, had our meal in the restaurant, which is lovely, and a great setting for that special occasion
Advertised food as ‘made on the site’ which in my book is worth the top rating I had a ‘famous’ fish lasagne. If you like cheese this will be the one for you Nice pub overall
Lovely, welcoming pub/eatery with a roaring log fire. Lots of character including the staff Great food. Comes highly recommended.
