Worst meal I I ever had with very poor service. Sunday lunch, ordered 2 courses from winter menu, 1 soup, 1 steak pie n French beans, mum ordered 1 steak pie n French beans n apple pie. After 30mins I asked to see if my order was coming. The lady said it's on the way. It came alright but all together starters, main n pudding?? Could not believe it. I tried the soup stone cold. Pie just warm with beans uncooked. I went up n told them the food was late, all courses arriving together instead of one at a time uncooked n demanded my money back. The lady gave my a refund n went some where else for some hot food.
Understaffed. Three staff to work on mother's Day at a busy motorway popular rest stop. They can't cope. Us punters have helped the single staff member clear 80% of the tables and wipe them down. Poor pick of staff who pick the day to see their mum when they are booked in and pull a sicky. Is it the managers day off too?
Staff exelent and friendly and helpful.I come in for tea 3to 4 times a week.Slightly pricey ,still think tea 75a pot!!!!!. The tea is NOT in bags which is rare and a bonus. All in very good a popular with the locals. Keep up the good work
Seemed a little disorganized today. Waited a while for our food and it was cold when it finally arrived. Maybe blt was a bad choice. Poorly presented and not appetizing. Just about edible . Coffee was ok.
Very grumpy/snobbish woman who served us. Found her very patronising. Initially didn't take it personally but then when I observed the way she was with other customers couldn't help but conclude that it was selective behaviour possibly due to my race. Was looking around for someone to make a complaint but no one else was there which is why I'm leaving a review.
CLOSED DOWN.. SO - "WAS"... Lovely food and beverage menu. Excellent, friendly "service with a smile" from the new manager - Maria. ***HOWEVER - FURTHER INFORMATION, SINCE MY EARLIER REVIEW - THE BRANCH IS NOW CLOSED***
I only asked for hot chocolate and a plug as an excuse to rest my feet, but I was very impressed by the customer service. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Thank you. Hot Choc was delicious too!
The slice of cake I ordered was dry, old and tasteless. The price was £4.10 for a slice of cake. Lots of table were unclear and stayed like that even when we left. Disappointed
Not good : They knew we were coming but had to wait 45 mins to br served. Sandwiches hard on edges, complained and told had no more as they are all frozen!! Small quiches rubbery, scones rock hard.. There was four of us with two groupon coupons told we could have free cakes to take home due to the problems incurred and was given 2 cup cakes. Never again.
Good coffee. Excellent cakes. Friendly staff
