Hi I am not one to complain. I attended a mpskills course at your venue on Friday 03/05/2024 I was very disappointed when entering the Reception to be greeted by a young lady smoking a E cigarette behind her desk as I don’t feel that it’s appropriate behaviour. Also I don’t think the Refreshments were up to standard as the cups weren’t taken away and washed or replaced between breaks and nobody new who’s cup was who’s. I know it was only a bunch of lorry drivers but we even have standards !! Kevin.
The hotel was not as advertised - I would not rate it more than a 3 star hotel. Corridors were scruffy, the breakfast room was probably the smallest I have experienced in any hotel. Breakfast choice was very limited.nOn the plus side our room was a 'cottage' on the edge of a large car park so we were able to park right by the door. The hotel was walking distance into Shifnal so we could find somewhere to eat - the hotel's own restaurant menu was poor.nThe worst thing of all - a Christmas Tree up in mid November
The old building is fabulous, set in its own spacious grounds, in the centre of Shifnal. One of the hotels' greatest assets is a staff member with over 45 years service, who brings a unique quality to the overall experience. The location makes it ideal as a basis for visiting the local attractions.
I stayed for a single night and the hotel unfortunately is generally old in appearance and could do with some long over due renovation and modernisation. The hotel has a strange and unfamiliar layout and it’s clear it’s tried to develop what’s it’s had but it’s made it’s rather dysfunctional in my opinion. This strange layout makes it hard to keep clean and it’s noticeable.nThe hotel wasn’t busy and there was no hot water for showers in all three of the rooms my party stayed in.nThe only thing hot in the hotel were the plates used for breakfast service where I suffered serious burns after touching one of them.nThe worst thing for me was that they didn’t have any HP sauce available for breakfast..!nThe staff were friendly and were doing the best they could do with what they have.
Only came for lunch with my Mum and Sister. Staff were pleasant when they were there. Tea was weak, no matter how long you nursed the tea bag. Hot choc was OK but not hot. In fact nothing was hot. All crockery was cold which didn't help. I wouldn't even give the food 1 star. Won't be wasting my very hard earned cash here again. The food was awful. We left nearly everything.
