Eight months ago, I had a major operation on my lung. I found out I had blood clots in my lungs, and needless to say, I was terrified because it was a big operation. I was officially dead for twelve hours. If there is anyone out there who has to be operated on for lung problems, then pray to God that you get treated at The Cambridge Padworth Hospital. The doctors are amazing, and the nurses are amazing; they looked after me like I was family. If the whole of the NHS were like this hospital, the world would be a better place. I had my own room with a sea view. Just for a moment, I thought I was on holiday. All I can say is thank you, Padworth Hospital; you are the best. Also if there is anyone out there that would like to know what to expect when having this operation contact me.
My husband came to Papworth on December 20th following a cardiac episode and had life saving surgery on 6th January under the care of Mr Stephen Large and his team. We can never really put into words how grateful we are to have this amazing hospital, not on our doorstep but well within reach. He is now at home recovering and we are looking forward to a healthier future for him. Also, thank you Floor 3 South West and Floor 5 South East for pre and post op care-you are amazing. In summary, we owe his life to Mr Large and this is a debt you can only repay by following instructions and making sure all his hard work was not wasted. Once again, thank you all.nnPaulin and Diane Mazurek
Nobody really wants to end up having to come here, but if you have to it's a first class place. My wife visits the Lung Defence centre and they are superb. Very attentive nurses, Doctors who listen and are compassionate and excellent treatment options. The building itself is very well designed and fully accessible by wheelchairs etc. The main atrium is light, airy and spacious, and the main reception desk at the centre is large and well positioned. Very impressed with seating and information screens. There is also a piano which is often played by competent staff members at lunchtime, a nice addition.
Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge is truly a level above most hospitals. The staff here are amazing—efficient, friendly, and always ready to help. The doctors, especially those in the transplant centre, are top-notch and provide exceptional care.Communication with family is always available and encouraged.nnThe rooms are comfortable, ensuring a pleasant stay for patients. The patient waiting area is well-maintained, though the family room could use some improvements for better comfort.nnWhile the cafeteria offers a variety of options, it is quite expensive, and I believe this needs to be addressed by the hospital management.nnThe reception staff are polite and welcoming, and the signage throughout the hospital is very helpful. Overall, Royal Papworth Hospital provides outstanding service and care
Was in Papworth for ten days, complex heart surgery could not have been treated better, the whole team were awesome. I'm back on my feet now and getting around, thank-you to everyone who had my back up there, from the surgeons to the sweet guy who brought me tea and watched Frasier with me, it meant a lot, you are all awesome. God bless you all.
