Oxford Witney Hotel

The hotel was nice when we eventually got there as we were booked in for one night during the heavy snow and due to the bad weather we could not find the place even though we had drove straight past we tried to ring the reception for ages but to no avail so not a good start. When we checked in the room was much like a travel lodge type of room it was clean and tidy. We got changed and went down for supper and the food was nice and the staff were friendly and polite. My main gripe was that the drinks were expensive and that the bar closed at at midnight which for a residents bar I thought was to early especially on the weekend. The other concern was the lack of security at night and anybody could walk through the entrance doors into the hotel which actually happened while we were sat having a chat and a drink after midnight. All that said we had a nice evening.

Clean, comfortable, basic. Room key didn't work and reception told us to pull down door handle twice. Had to be done quickly while green light was on, therefore it took numerous attempts to get into room, noisy, particularly at night. At dinner only one out of our four meals was enjoyable. The other three were extremely dull and bland. Staff at the bar were inconsistent and unhelpful. Had to order food from the bar as waitress failed to return. Very long wait between courses.

Had an amazing weekend here shame it's almost over. Had a lovely swim in the pool and sat in hot tub for ages last night. Dinner was amazing almost too good to eat. Breakfast was lovely shame I was a little too hungover to enjoy it. Had a lovely Swedish massage this morning so relaxed ready for my journey home. I cannot fault a single staff member here nothing is too much trouble for them

Very nice atmosphere, love the fire. Nice and fresh and clean. Bathrooms a bit outdated, facilities excellent. It was traditional meets contemporary. Would definitely come back

Its OK for the price, £99 on groupon for bed breakfast and evening meal. All we OK, nothing special. Again, room was OK, hot water, well steam out of the hot tap was a bit much. Bath was a little narrow and shower curtain an annoyance. Breakfast was buffet style and would appeal to a young rep (having been one), evening meal was on par for larger quantity rather than quality hotel. Would I stay again? Probably, if I'd not time to research something a little more special and time was an issue.
