Beautiful little pub that serves amazing food. We were looking for a dog friendly pub to get a sandwich and decided to try Owd Betts. It was fantastic! The staff were really nice, the food was great we'll be going back to try more off the menu, and they even gave our dog a little tub of turkey which he loved. Definitely worth a trip, maybe you'll be lovely enough to get a table in front of the open fire
Real pub with real pub grub. Right near the walking areas so great to come into after a walk. We got lucky and got a table without booking, they were very accommodating to as many guests as they could but I would recommend booking. We had a rag pudding and a mixed gril. They don't skimp out on anything and everything was cooked well. The staff are also lovely. Plenty of tables inside and out the back more picnic tables.
Lovely warm welcome and a hot open fire to warm the cockles, we had a short wait for a table but that was because we hadn't booked. We had the Lancashire hotpot and it was the best hotpot we had ever tasted. Served with red cabbage and crusty bread.
What a fantastic meal. We’d heard about the Friday night steak night through word of mouth. Ellen and her team of staff were superb! A lovely warm hearth, well kept ales and the food. Delicious. As steak should be, cooked to perfection, great sauces. Will be back! Loved it.
A lovely walk around the reservoir but its not very full looks empty why? So peaceful around that area you can see for miles
Love everything about this lovely little pub/ restaurant. The food is wholesome ..not the usual samey ding ding food you find in chain pubs. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The pub is dog friendly which is a big bonus after walking in the beautiful surrounding countryside. I cant say enough good things about our visit to this place.
Six of us spent a super cosy Sunday afternoon, roaring fires and low ceilings make this the perfect place on a rainy wet afternoon. The staff especially Ellie were wonderful: attentive, helpful and made some great suggestions on sides and wine. All of our us enjoyed our meals. They even created us a cheese board and a special meal for one of our party. The Sunday lunch is magnificent it’s humongous ! It’s on our doorstep and I can’t believe I’ve not been in years. Absolutely worth going to. You won’t be disappointed
Birthday meal for my partner on 15/10/22 was not a good experience as the 'burger' she had which she said tasted like it had liver and offal in it made her violently ill for 24hrs.I had a taste and it had an odd consistency and tasted nothing like a burger. Nice pub & staff, and we have had nice meals in the past but will probably avoid and find somewhere else to go in future. Very disappointed as not a nice birthday for her.
Good home cooked food, nice setting and reasonably priced. Not the most comprehensive menu but still very nice! Dog friendly not for everyone but suited us. Friendly and attentive staff, open fire and a warm welcome
Lovely staff and food great, would always go for food, drinks and great scenery. However on this occasion, went for the psychic evening. Not an intimate quiet area. So difficult for someone wanting a quiet reading. Wouldn't recommend for this type of event.
