I had a Saturday dinner here before they went for refurbishment. The food was really good especially the zucchini fries and the tiramisu but everything was above average. We had their tagliata di manzo and a pasta both were good. It’s though a bit pricier than all the other restaurants on Northcote and you must make a reservation as it can come up to an hour of wait.
My favourite restaurant! Feels like a little escape to Italy on northcote Road. We always walk around intending to try somewhere new but get drawn back to this wonderful homely spot with fab service, incredible food and great wines too.Food: 5/5
It's been a while since last time a restaurant wowed me. Very busy place, so booking a table is highly recommended. Service is as good and friendly as you could ever imagine. I had the best starter I've ever had, fried zucchini which was absolutely delicious. It did not come with any sauce to dip, but it was so good that it did not requiere any sauce to be enjoyable. Then the main of the day, 1.2kg tomahawk! This left me speechless, so all I can say is that it was cooked to perfection and that I have already sent pictures to my friends, so they know where to get an exquisite beefy experience. Fries were also very good, crunchy on the outside and soft and creamy inside. Salad was well seasoned and last but not least, we were offer some Sicilian olive oil which left me wanting more and more. Thanks for such an amazing experience, keep the good work up everyone :
We stumbled across Antiica Bologna by chance and so glad that we did. It's a small place that was v busy so we were lucky to get a table. The food was unreal, and the specials were absolutely delicious. We had octopus carpaccio and calamari for starter, seafood spaghetti and pink duck breast for mains, then the most delicious lemon tart I've ever had - a soft lemon base with a creme brulee texture and caremalised top. The waitress serving us was lovely and really passionate about the food. She was really attentive and made some great recommendations. Great experience & excellent food
Went there with no expectations and I ended up having the best Italian meal in London during our three week holiday. If you’re looking for a real Italian experience in terms of food and service without the exuberant prices in central London, this is the perfect place.Food: 5/5
Shared a few bites here. It's a very busy and simple restaurant, where you can tell that the volume of guests they welcome in overtake the staff capability of managing it. Olive all'ascolana was my favourite but sadly I left a bit disappointed as overall I didn't find the flavours I was looking for. A good spot for a casual meal but not a place for an occasion. Bit pricey. Good spritz
Fantastic vegetarian starters! Panelle, a Sicilian street food dish made from chickpea flour formed into fritters and pan fried, and in this case, with caraway seeds - superb. The courgette fritters were just too good to even get on the plate as we grabbed them from the serving dish. My crab linguine was top class and the spinach ravioli in lashing of butter drew ground of delight from my companions. The guests at our neighbouring table sang high praises for their veal starter with tuna sauce another traditional dish rarely found in London restaurants and veal cutlet on the bone which was bounteous. The staff are enthusiastic and friendly, I’d go back again whenever in the area.
The best Italian on Northcote road. A good selection of wine complement a very simple but effective menu. Quality attracts the crowd so make sure to book.
Very good Italian restaurant. Slightly rushed through as we were a 1.45pm booking on a Friday lunchtime but it was a good meal and the atmosphere was good.Food: 5/5
High quality food and authentic Italian tradition. Fish was fresh and tasty, pasta cooked at perfection. Location is quite small and can get very noisy but overall pleasant. Service is ok, owner was really nice and also left some home made biscuits for the table. Price was in line with quantity and quality - not cheap but neither extremely expensive. Nice Italian spot in Clapham junction!
