It's rubbish. I got discharged from here the other day and I have no idea why? I'm literally going through a dark moment and I get discharged back to the GP. They review every three months.. but during them reviews they just want to get through their checklists, even them they rush. They don't want to spend time talking about things that are bothering you. It's like some kind of system get one out and get another in. They also like to diagnos you but not support you through it just put you on medication and be done with you.
The way that people are being treated here is appalling. I was 5 minutes late to an appointment and I was discarded and told it was too late. I was made to feel as if bad traffic was my own fault on top of that I was spoken to in a rude and belittling way. This is not how we treat people let alone people which severe mental health.
I find the psychiatrists and telephone staff excellent. Always polite and compassionate. I have a lot of struggles and grateful for the help I receive. When I pick up prescriptions, the staff are so lovely.
I have been coming for around 2 years to attempt some help. So far I have seen 5 different psychiatrists over 8 appointments; so if you value continuity to build trust, it won't happen. Out of 8 appointments, only one psychiatrist had read my notes prior to my appointments. One even explained to me that "others have it worse" which is extremely helpful with a subjective/invisible illness. This actually made me almost give up with help. My main psychiatrist hasn't listened to me once and only cared about prescribing tablets which is not effective depending on your illness. They won't diagnose you either, they will keep it vague and tell you that you don't need a "label". YOU ARE A PSYCHIATRIST, IF YOU BELIEVE THE ILLNESS' ARE JUST LABELS, FIND A NEW PROFESSION. Desk staff are lovely.
if i could give minus i would no help nearly tipped my grandson over the edge. they wouldnt help no contact when phoned never got back to us then when i phoned adult social services allison said every thing would have to go through her then it began with in a hour of talking to adult ss she was on the phone with in a hour .then phoning him saying she didnt change there meds to pick up every day .we phoned ss up they got them changed to every week then his so called cpn from orchard phoned him and said she had done it .but ss had already phoned to say they changed it . totally useless he had to change his phone num to stop her harassing him very disappointed with orchard no help what so ever made every thing worse .
The mental health services here are appalling over the years you never see the same psychiatrist , and each time you have to go over your history as the psychiatrist has failed to read your notes . Appointments are frequently cancelled , and your symptoms are dismissed with reference that their books are full and there are people worse than you . Therefore you will be discharge you at the next appointment in order to keep their numbers down . A absolutely disgraceful service from people suffering from mental health illness .
An utter joke of a place. Been back and forth to the centre since I was 15 I’m now 22 & not once have I had good experience there, not once have I actually been helped. I understand the NHS is under a lot of pressure, especially mental health but that doesn’t mean that the nurses & doctors can’t have compassion or treat you like you actually do feel things. Referrals getting misplaced or ‘not received’, attitude from the reception staff when I was trying to chase my referral, I generally felt like I was the one to blame because neither them or the GP would admit to not sending/losing my referral. And now I’m being denied help that my GP and my local Mental Health Crisis Team said I needed. So now I’m stuck on medication that isn’t working but can’t change without seeing a psychiatrist I was told this by the crisis team, but apparently I don’t fit the ‘criteria’ for their help. Clearly I’m not ill enough to need their help, that’s why I was referred there in the first place. I don’t have any faith in the mental health team in Hinckley.
Another new psychiatrist this place gets through psychiatrists quicker than I go through my medication this new one only has talking therapy to offer and if you dont take it your released back to your gp really help full to someone with severe anxiety
Rubbish should be closed down they are fake and insulting your better off not going there they make matters worse end off plus they don't believe a word u say I think I've been diagnosed with an illness I haven't got I got another type of illness plus they are sarcastic .
They are grate and very helpful
