This is a well-run private hotel in a very nice setting. The staff are excellent, courteous, helpful, and attentive. The period manor is well-maintained and stands in old and manicured grounds, yet with a very modern and attractive communal outdoor space for functions. Included breakfast was very good. I did not eat at the restaurant, but friends and family tell me that it is excellent. To top all this, the room rates are very good value. Rooms: Exceptionally clean and comfortable and of a decent size, including a spacious bathroom. Mine had a large balcony affording nice views of the grounds, the city, and surrounding hills. The bed was comfortable and the room included comfortable seating for three people. Nearby activities: Very convenient for Caerphilly and Cardiff by both car, bus and nearby train service. Close to the ancient and moden castles of Caerphilly, Mor Graig and Castell Coch. Many parks and mountain trails within easy reach. Cardiff has many attractions and activities, from the revamped waterfronts to the shopping centre.
Held my late mum's celebration of life service. Room was spacious for our needs. Staff wonderful friendly and respectful. Staff welcoming, couldn't do enough to ensure guests were well attended to. Food served delicious. Hotel was warm and welcoming.Rooms: 5/5
We attended a wake, so not the happiest of occasions to visit this hotel. However, the food was excellent and the service was first class. The serving staff were very friendly and efficient which made a difficult occasion easier to 'enjoy'.Service: 5/5
Excellent afternoon tea in the Orangery served by friendly and attentive staff in a very pretty setting. Beautifully made selection of patisseries and savouries, including vegetarian. The scones were amazing, served warm with plenty of cream and jam. Would highly recommend.Service: 5/5
Attended for a work Christmas party. The location and building was nice, parking and driving in was an issue... Only a single road leading to the building so there was a lot of traffic build up and we had to jump out of the car and walk the rest of the way or we would have been late. The food was ok. I had sweet potato and garlic soup which I enjoyed, the main was satisfactory... Plenty of food, but some of the veg was undercooked, plus only 1 pig in blanket per person? The sticky toffee pudding was nice, no complaints there. It was a little awkward when they were serving food, as they came around and offered separate parts of the meal; they seemed very rushed and at one point had potatoes being thrown over one shoulder and parsnips over the other. The party itself was good. Drinks were a little expensive. Gave a 5 star for rooms because I didn't see them so would be unfair for me to comment. Overall an ok evening, could have been better but not overly mad about it. Don't think I'd arrange anything here myself though.
We cannot thank Manor Parc Hotel enough for our perfect wedding day. All the staff were beyond accommodating and we were both at ease knowing that Mario, Helen, Vikki and Stuart were there for support on our special day. Everything had been provided for, they had thought of everything. The grounds, the rooms, the food, were all beautiful. From the moment we arrived Friday afternoon the team were well prepared and ready to assist us with anything including helping us get the cake out of the car. Nobody was too much trouble including taking food up to the rooms for one of our ill guests and even saving food for another guest who had a family emergency. Everyone loved the food and Manor Parc were beyond accommodating with all our dietary requirements from gluten free options to lactose free options. We couldn't imagine our day being anywhere else.
The staff were fantastic, no questions went unanswered or unresolved, the food was fresh and hot when served and also tasted great. The atmosphere was very good and the party of 17 was not disappointed with the whole experience. Highly recommend for a family event.
Pure excellence in every way. Location, staff , room, service, food and overall facilities. I must say I have travelled for work a great deal and I am so pleased to have found this gem of a hotel. Let me take this opportunity to thank everyone at the hotel for making my stay so comfortable
Stayed one night, room No. 5. Friendly staff. Room clean and comfortable with plenty of sockets and 4x USB outlets. Tea/coffee making facility in room but just one biscuit?. Shared terrace with views towards Cardiff. Iron in room. Bed throw was a bit worn/scruffy. Breakfast in the restarurant room downstairs overlooking the garden, a choice of cerials, toast, togart, tea/coffee, fruit and cooked options including a vegetarian or vegan cooked welsh breakfast. Offered gluten free bread for toast - well done! £130 a night if booked direct with hotel £10 reduction off booking sites.
Enjoyed a nice Sunday lunch here, good food and attentive service, at at great price. Garden backs on to motorway so outside terrace is rather noisy, but inside is fine.Service: 5/5
