I have been going in the rat since it became the rat. If you want a proper Yorkshire pub with real folk and quality ales it's perfect. . This is a pub for people who like a traditional alehouse the ale changes regularly and as yet I haven't had a bad pint or experience in 20 or more years. Long may "the rat" reign supreme. Best pub in Yorkshire. Well in my experience its the best pub.

This is real one off type of place it has a really wide range of ales which were changing as we sat at the bar. The night we were in it was really busy the bar staff were serving almost all the time. There is a warm and welcoming atmosphere with a good mix of people and age ranges if you like a good ale this is the place to be.

A nice little pub with a good selection of real ales . A popular place with the locals and a good size screen to watch sport .

Oh my if only all pubs were like the Rat! Cosy, homely and a veritable feast of beverage on offer my favourite pub in England just wish I lived next door, land lord is a star he knows his trade and the menu is out standing, varying by season, no jukebox, no food just cracking ale
