We’ve just been charged £19.40 to call their 0871 number trying to book a holiday. You can’t book plane seats on their web site so have to call. We feel totally ripped off, we didn’t even manage to get a holiday booked as the price allegedly changed during the call. Never again.
Never use this holiday company. Make a slight change to your booking and they will charge you anything between £80-£360 to do so. They will lie to you, rip you off on anything they can and refunds are not an option. Not an ABTA registered company so will not give you any fairness at all.
On beach total ripoff took £300 from us and would change date or refund money after few hours into the booking AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS,STICK WITH THOMAS COOK TUI ECT 0/10
Awful service, Been trying to get hold of them for months. We have booked our holiday and the hotel has since closed, and no phone lines are open to discuss matter..... Disgraceful. Pictures are brochure Pictures vs reality......
I really don't want to give 1 star. Since paying my deposit, I have had problems. I have made two months payments £700, and my booking is not showing up in "My Bookings". Now they are telling me they could not take last months payment, but my bank is telling me they did not try to take it. Because costs are increasing, I expect they will not honor the holiday, and cancel, as they do. Would never, ever book through this company again. They do not answer emails, the telephone, and I cannot access my booking online, probably as it does not exist.
Appalling service and communications. I would never book with them again. We recently booked travel to Spain through them and on arrival at the Airport lounge we were turned away. Secondly on our return we were told by the checkin staff that we hadn't booked or paid for the return of our luggage. We have complained, had very little communication and sent through receipts for out of pocket expenses and are yet to get a refund 40 days and counting. Had to put 1 star to post this review
Don't even merit a star in my opinion. A member of my family died a few days prior to his departure on holiday. We couldn't access his 'manage my account' webpage, so I tried in vain to make contact with 'on the beach' to inform them and find out the protocol for a refund? I was on the phone twice for at least an hour at a time waiting for my call be taken but eventually, I had to give up. I did find a feedback@ email and informed them of the death and could they make contact with me. But no response has yet been received. Absolutely atrocious, disgustingly behaviour at such an emotionally sad time. Would not recommend them at all.
Worst holiday we have ever had. You need to vet the resorts that you sell. From start to finish a horrendous experience.
Beware! Once you book your holiday with On the Beach it will take 3 to 4 days for them to come back and confirm, or in our case cancel our booking. It appears that during this 'pending' period if the prices airline or hotel increase On the Beach will cancel your booking rather than honour the price provided when you committed to pay the deposit. It says that if they need to cancel your booking during the 'pending' period they will call you to discuss, they didn't call us, we just received a cold email. The excuse used for cancelling our holiday was "This is due to a technical issue with our flight data supplier." I have checked the holiday on their website again and our hotel and flights are still available for the same dates, they are just about £600 more. We could have booked with other travel companies at the time such as Love Holidays or Tui for a little more. Now I wish we had had as since waiting for On the Beach's pending/confirmation period the prices have gone up on all other travel company's websites. Doing a few Google searches it seems On the Beach used to increase customers prices after they had booked and were 'blasted' for it. So I guess now they have decided to cancel bookings they can't make a profit on. Lesson learnt, don't book with On the Beach!
Worst company ever, after you book spending hours looking for suitable holidays they'll contact you to pay £100s more due to price hike in less than 24hrs.
