About

Cafe, Tapas & Boutique Rooms in Betws Y Coed serving Afternoon Tea, Gourmet Burgers, Tapas made with local produce & a large range of craft beers, ciders and spirits.

Story

Olif is a café and Welsh tapas bar with boutique rooms in Betws Y Coed, in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park.

During the day, our café offers ‘Gourmet Burgers’ – made to a special recipe using prime cuts of 100% Conwy Valley beef, which we mince ourselves to make sure that only the best bits make the cut.

We also serve a menu of indulgent Afternoon Teas – everything from a traditional Welsh Afternooon Tea with Bara Brith, Welsh Cakes and Scones to Bubby Afternoon Tea, with a glass of Champagne or Prosecco and chocolate dipped strawberries.

During the evenings, we serve a Welsh-themed tapas menu, delivering a fusion of Welsh and Mediterranean small plates which we’re sure everyone will love. Aside from our olives, we try to make sure that all of our produce is sourced locally – we’ve even managed to find Welsh ‘Chorizo’. We also use Carmarthen Ham, made to a recipe that is rumoured to have been stolen by the Romans and is now known as Parma Ham!

We also serve a smaller tapas menu during the daytime – so you have plenty of choice!

From our customer feedback, we know that our commitment to using locally produced food which is cooked fresh each day (the only thing you’ll find in our freezer is ice cream and ice cubes!) makes a big difference to the quality and taste of our food.

And you can wash it all down with over 30 local ales and ciders, a great selection of Welsh liqueurs and spirits, and a great wine list with international favourites and award-winning Welsh wines.

All of our en-suite rooms have been individually designed and have luxury 'Hypnos' pocket sprung mattresses, Egyptian cotton bedding, beautiful ensuites (some of which have freestanding baths).

We offer room service & in-room treats, including a selection of teas and Welsh roast coffee, water and fresh milk, as well as complimentary ‘Hipo Hyfryd’ chocolate truffles, & Olif’s own homemade shortbread.

We believe in pampering our guests and each guest room has complimentary bathrobes, slippers and luxury Welsh ‘Myddfai’ toiletries, along with a Toni & Guy hairdryer.

We know that connectivity is important to our guests, particularly in an area where network coverage is patchy, so each room has free superfast broadband – all the better to enjoy your 32” flat screen TV with Freeview and a range of streaming channels such as Netflix via our Roku Streaming Sticks.

If you’re in the mood for music, all of our rooms have Bluetooth enabled DAB radios / MP3 players. They’ll even wake you up in the morning.

So come and see us – you won’t regret it.

We look forward to feeding you.

Welsh tapas? I was intrigued. Lucky to get a table due to a cancellation because of bad weather. Lovely, intimate little restaurant, warm and friendly. Reasonable choice of different types of tapas. Beautifully presented and tasty. Slightly expensive I would suggest but a lovely experience.

Defonitely my top 10 best restaurant in the UK. Every ingredients except olive are locally source, very good experience for ppl like me who want to try Welsh food. Although tapas not very Welsh but every dishes I ordered has been superbly brilliant. I was gobsmacked how could the chefs cooked everything so deliciously, I've never experienced this kind of eating experience before where all the ingredients and cooking skills are equally brilliant in one restaurant. I've definitely go there and recommended you who visit snowdonia to visit there. Must book the table to avoid disappointment of no seating.

Such amazing food. I go back regularly and always try new dishes, every one of which is a gem. Local ingredients, local beers and spirits. It is a small restaurant that is by far the pick of the town, if not the county.

This hotel was the perfect location for going to Zip world. Wonderfully cosy and very clean. The little extras in the room were so welcome and Aubrey and his staff are very helpful and kind couldn't do enough for us. The food in the restaurant was to die for, just so much choice and we sampled most dishes as they were small tapas dishes, just delicious. We only ate in the restaurant as it was so good. We visited for my son's 30th birthday a family of six and we all said the same thing that we will definitely be returning. I loved the views and the atmosphere of the little town was just so friendly.
