I have only really been here for lunch a few times and I absolutely love the plate to share. It has pate, scotch egg, pork pie, pickled onions and beetles, as well as tiny pickles, ham, cheese, bread, the works! For less than £20 for two people, I feel like it is excellent value, and the food is very tasty. The staff are very nice, but when you’re outside, and it gets busy, it’s easier to go in and get more drinks than to wait for staff to come to you. I really enjoy the outdoor seating when the weather is nice. I highly recommend a visit, or two.
I can't believe I've not been here before, and I've lived in this area since the seventies. The Olde Vic is a pub with a real pub feel but with an emphasis on food. It has a great atmosphere, the staff are terrific and the food, well someone knows their stuff, is really good. You can call to book a table on the phone, always a bonus for me, and their website shows how busy it is live, and with future predictions. There is a public car park opposite the pub and it's easy to find. Also it's not far from the A14 so would always be worth a slight diversion if you were travelling. I will be frequenting this pub a lot from now on, just wish it was walking distance from my house.
Booked for Sunday lunch for a family of 13 people. The food was fantastic and the staff were all very helpful even though the pub was busy, nothing was too much trouble. All the starters and mains came out together and served hot. Not an easy task!!! Would definitely go back again.
Wow amazing pub food! Really great food can’t say that enough. So impressed really busy today so I thought having lunch was going to be a nightmare. But no super fast service, great food and at really respectable prices. Will be coming back for sure!
Just had a lovely meal with family members, 14 in total. We prebooked 1pm, but the majority of our party were an hour late due to an over running pantomime. We kept the staff informed and they told us to relax and not worry. The table was booked after our booking for 4pm, so they said no problem as long as we can vacate the table by 3.45pm. The service was brilliant as was the quality of the food. These guys know how to treat customers and the chefs certainly know how to cook and present food. Well done to the owners and staff for a great experience. We will be back.
A party of 12 diners had a absolutely wonderful meal at the Old Vic. The atmosphere and service was second to none. It was unanimous that we would be back again. The food was excellent and just rightly generous. Almost every plate was taken away cleared.

Brilliant friendly helpful and on the ball staff, Absolutely rammed but still able to get food and drink very quickly for is fit for king William himself Beautiful, rustic, homely. Couldn't beat the atmosphere even with it packed. I am hgv driver I visit any place I can throughout the country for food and drink This place I will visit again. Credit to the team

Loved our experience here. Great customer service from the moment we walked in. Very popular so it is advisable to book ahead. Good range of food Even though it was very busy, you never felt left. Well done everyone, your attention to details shows from the manger, to the bar, waiting and kitchen staff
