Lovely pub, ensure to book though for Sunday lunch to avoid disappointment. Fortunately I really enjoy the pizza here so whilst I missed there superb Sunday roast, it did not compromise the visit. The staff are really friendly as well! Good work and I look forward to the next visit Sunday lunch included
Amazing pizzas and food, live music, wicked inside space and lovely beer garden! Big yes!!! Had to take a bite before remembering to take a photo!
What a wonderful experience. Food wasn't what I would have expected for a pub, but that certainly doesn't mean I wasn't living for it. The woodfired pizza was stunning and tasted incredible, and the vegan options were second to none! Absolutely no complaints! Delicious and little to no wait time. The decoration was modern and rustic and made the whole experience feel warm and comfortable. Would definitely come back!
This pub was okay. I'm just probably getting too old for it. Plus side - staff were friendly and helpful. Drinks - good wine selection Food - only had a starter but generous portion, fresh and tasty Decor - quirky, but a bit sparse in places Cleanliness - hard to tell, due to the decor it looks like it could use a good scrub Ambience - it was quiet - nothing wrong with that, but feels like its set up to have a lot more people in it - music hinted at that too. Like I said - I'm starting to show my age. Possibly just a younger persons pub.
We had a lovely meal here for Mothers Day. Staff are really friendly and the food is delicious. Plenty of options for veggie/vegan as well as all the other usual bits. Great selection of beers too
My husband and I absolutely love this place! Not only because of the truly delicious food but also the staff are just fabulous and go beyond to make you feel so warm and welcome especially Ash and Jamie. The pizza especially porkie tall are the best pizza’s I’ve ever eaten and Mondays are 2 for 1 . Also need to mention that the range of wines are of good quality and quantity :- The old white horse is definitely one of our favourite places to eat and drink in mighty Baldock!
Went to have a nice family lunch. Was given a pile of fat as ‘pork belly’ wit my Sunday roast. Left after eating a potato because the pork was so inedible and feeling extremely sick. Oh, and still hungry.
Went in for lunch time pizza and can highly recommend. Very tasty and freshly produced in their pizza oven. Two for One on a Monday which makes this a great offer Selection of local ales and beers
What a gem of a pub! Rustic, airy, great ales, great food, great staff! A Charles Wells establishment featuring the ‘pizza, pots and pints’ theme. My partner and I had beef lasagne and macaroni cheese. Both delicious and generous portions. Very friendly and helpful staff and manager, Adam. We will definitely make a point of returning soon.
Cannot speak more highly of this pub. Great food, great atmosphere and the staff are just incredible - never experienced anything like it before. Best pub in Baldock.
