It's good to be back to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had a lovely Sunday roast lunch, and my roast beef was delicious! For desserts, I had a mini mocha torte and coffee, while my husband had a sticky toffee pudding, which I found very sweet and overpowering. Overall, it was a nice experience. :
We had a lovely meal here, I had scampi n chips and a starter of Korean BBQ chicken, and my partner had a lovely chicken n ham hock pie which she said was the best she has tasted for a long while. Only thing I would say there wasn't enough scampi but the meal was superb, the waitress was lovely too, will definitely be going back...
Dog friendly pub, even had a dog station lol Great friendly staff, which asked if we was being looked after, as soon as we walked in, even though they were busy with serving others. Warm and cosy. Book ahead for a meal, as it is very popular and no table's available when we asked. Good public footpath next to the pub, to walk the dog and return for a hot chocolate. Although it was -2c outside, there was a lot of outside seating area, which will be busy in the summer.
Excellent meal at George IV last night. Not been here for a very long time but would highly recommend. Food was very good and Lindy our server was exceptional, made sure everything was good with our meals and anything we needed. If your in the area or live near by get in there for a great atmosphere and even better food and service.
Popped in for a weekday lunch in a newly refurbished pub, was very impressed from the spacious outside space available for sunnier/warmer days and the way the inside had been decorated. Had an excellent meal reasonably priced and very tasty, look forward to revisiting in the very near future.
Wow, wow, wow! We have been in recently for our second visit and the food and service were just as good as our first visit, if not better! The sharing starter board is to die for and the cheese and bacon burger was cooked to perfection! Unfortunately I had no room for dessert this time Our first visit was on a busy Sunday, and this time was a quiet midweek visit. The service was just as good both times we have visited. This time we found some board games by the fire and it was so nice to just put our phones down and play a board game as a family it helps that I won the game Can’t wait for our third visit soon and to try out the new festive menu!!
Had this been 6 months ago, it would have been 1 star. A new landlord has brought a new energy to this wonderful pub. The food is amazing! The steaks are a must!! The service is incredible. All the staff are eager to make your meal a special experience and unlike the last landlord they are super happy to accommodate those with dietary needs. My children both have autism and the staff never object to changing the meal to suit their needs. If, like me, you came and the food and service was terrible, I urge you to come again as it is 1000% better. Bring cash for staff tips as the card machine doesn't give the option and you'll feel bad not tipping as the food and service are so great. Thank you to Jason and all your amazing staff
We ate at the George IV, Baldock for tea as we were passing through the area. It had been highly recommended to us, so jumped at the chance to visit. First impressions, the pub is very welcoming and has plenty of parking, which is always a bonus! From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted with a warm and friendly smile. The pub has been beautifully done inside and out we were really impressed. The food was amazing! We had high expectations when we went in and were not disappointed. I would highly recommend anyone to visit the George IV, Baldock if you ever get the chance. We can't wait to go back :
Really lovely food and good service. Dietary requirements were easily attended to. A tiny error was rectified before we even said anything! They realised themselves and sorted it. Highly recommend sharing platers as pictured
I came in for a roast dinner with a friend tonight and we both really enjoyed our meal. The staff were all friendly and attentive. And as a bonus they had alcohol free wine, which isn’t as widely available as it should be, and it was fairly decent. Looking forward to coming in for more meals in the new year hopefully with alcohol-full wine once I’ve had my baby
