Amazing little gem to be found near the estuary! Fabulous open fire, a separate bar and restaurant area, beer garden and interesting historic newspaper extracts/relics displayed around the pub. We were part of a walking group including one dog who stopped here for drinks and the welcoming staff kindly allowed us to eat our own sandwiches in the bar area where we sat. There's a local rumour that the road leading to the pub gets blocked of by the sea for about 5 hours when the tide comes in! I'd definitely like to return to see if this holds true. A beautiful surrounding area too.
This is without doubt one of the best venues for eating outdoors in Pembrokeshire. The Point House is virtually on the shoreline in the village of Angle. It's a rough road just getting to it but it is worth the trip. As you could imagine most of the menu here is based on seafood. The pub itself is very small with the emphasis on eating and drinking outside. This building was built in the1600, just to give you an idea of what it is like.
Recently renovated by new owners with cafe Mor situated at rear. I haven't eaten here but the food being served out looked very nice. Staff were very pleasant. Well worth a visit.
It was closed for renovation when we visited while on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, but is opening before the end of May. We talked to one of the new owners who was very pleasant, and allowed us to eat our sandwiches on the pub's tables, overlooking the Sound. I'm pretty sure that it will be a great place to eat. The café is open, so you don't need to be disappointed.
This place is a hidden gem. The food is very good and the setting is quaint. I loved the smell of the wood fire. Will definitely revisit in the summer. I recommend booking to save disappointment as it is quite small.
So lovely to have this pub in Angle. Small well put together menu with classic pub favourites like burger and fish cooked simply. We were indulging in something different, 3 lobster dishes scotch egg, mac n cheese and arancini. Main courses averaged £16 and all were gorgeous and well spiced. The dessert a very decadent spiced rum, chocolate torte. We did a 3 mile coast walk after from the pub. The staff were so friendly we will definitely be back.
Lovely venue in an idyllic setting. Fantastic food - my wife had Lobster, I had Bass - service was quick and efficient and the staff were excellent - friendly and helpful. All told The Old Point deserves 5 Star plus... We will return!
A true gem. Warm and welcoming with delicious food, drink and ‘couldn’t do more for you’ staff. Spotlessly clean in a cabin/cottage setting. The highlight of our stay in South Wales. The competition could learn much from this business.
Great location/food/owner. Had the best Sunday lunch ever. Thanks for complimentary drink on high tide waiting for road to clear . Top place ,Atlantic Oysters best ever
Just had the best Sunday roast dinner ! It wasnt a large meal but definitely enough the gravy very rich best I've tasted , We were told that we weren't able to drive back along the coast as the tide was higher than expected, and were given a complimentary drink on the house a lovely touch
