Absolute shambles of a surgery. Told to ring at 8.30 in the morning to try and get an appointment, to ring 45 times, each time having automated service saying call couldn't be taken. You cant ring any other time of the day to make an appointment so difficult when at work. Told to come to open surgery which is difficult when getting a child to school or at work which is why I thought phone call would be easier. Reception staff are also rude. Something really needs to change with how this surgery is managed
I have just been on the phone I had a very sort chat with the receptionist before she hung up on me? I have never been in for an appointment in over 2 years of being part of this doctors. There is no system in place for working families they also have no time to explain anything to anyone. I have never been treated so badly in my life by someone that is supposed to be there to help people.
I've been trying to get an appointment for 4 weeks. You can't get through on the phone it is constantly engaged. When you do get through after waiting 45mins - 1 houryou are told that there are no appts left.. Then you try the walk in clinic and same thing happens. This surgery is a risk to patients health. Complete disgrace - go elsewhere if you actually want to speak to a doctor.
Some of the Dr's are amazing however most of the reception staff, most not all! when u actually get through on the phone are rude, have no compassion or empathy. The phone system is a disgrace, lack of a system really. The only reason I haven't left though is because the Dr's are amazing bar 1 or 2 but I request I don't get a call from them and usually this is OK. This surgery has always had a ridiculous phone system in place, covid just made this worse. Something needs to change or they need to stop taking on new patients because they can't cope with the load they already have. Everyone that is a patient and I mean everyone will more than likely have the exact same thing to say. Other surgeries have far better systems in place, I just don't understand why old mill won't change theirs when it really does not work for the patients!!
Disgraceful, rang from 8.30am answer machine picked up at 8.50, a real person answers at 9.25am only to be told no more appoints, doctors not seeing anyone, phone only, can't do walk in as at work and could wait for hours only to be turned away. No asthma clinic,no thyroid clinc. Would give zero stars but cant,
I would give 0 starts if possible, staff are rude and uncaring. The call staff don't do their jobs and like to chat away with each other while the phones are ringing like crazy and they also can't do a simple repeat script to save their lives. Old mill is a pile of $=!/
This surgery is actually a danger to its patients. Poorly trained receptionist staff who could potentially endanger lives and a telephone system which is absolutely not fit for purpose. I attempted to call 25 times from 8:49am to 9.10am, repeatedly to be told by an automated service that I should try again later and then being cut off. When I eventually got through to a holding queue I was on hold for 47mins just to be told at the end that there were no spots available for even an emergency phone call appointment and I should try again at 8:30am the following day. I'll be reporting this surgery to the relevant authorities as it needs a full review of its processes. It is not fit for purpose and will pose a danger to patients who need urgent help.
Brilliant staff very friendly and helpful might take a while to get through on the phone but worth the hassle to get treated the best team of Doctors in Newtownards only for them I would have died people don’t know they are well off with such a good surgery Keep up the good work. And thanks to all staff for their efforts and professionalism.
The level of service consistently given by the staff and Doctors in this practice is outstanding. We are very fortunate to have them.
Can't believe in level of,, health service,, in this place. Living in Ards for 5 years, never got an appointment when been sick Having fever and strong painful inflammation, was waiting by the window, and listening how receptionist chatting by the phone for 15 mins about stuff that has nothing to do with health - now I know for sure why impossible to call them as line is,, busy,, 24/7 So after I've explained all, no help offered, no appointment given, told to come back in the morning-next morning told no more spaces left. Basically just go and die, good luck. Then promised to call me if have some antibiotics left - if have some left?? Is there like 10 packs per day issued for whole population? Why can I just get that paper and go buy myself and heal? Also receptionist asked do I understand and speak English - how unprofessional is that? If I could give zero stars I would, and if this review can help any person, planning to go to this clinic, avoid avoid avoid, think about your health!
