We booked in for dinner tonight and had a really lovely meal. I had scallops to start and steak for my main and both were cooked perfectly. My partner had soup to start and the beef burger for his main. The burger was epic: double patty with plenty of bacon and melted cheese on a toasted brioche bun. The highlight of the meal was the homemade chips which were really amazing! Also, the blue cheese sauce I asked for with my steak was really creamy and moreish. For afters we had cake of the day and a very large! cheese board. We ordered an extra side and soft drinks/coffee and the bill came in under £65 which is quite good considering what we ate. I'm unsure how long the business has been under new management for but there were some items unavailable on the menu and we were asked to pay in cash. If these issues vanish fairly quickly then this really does become an excellent place to eat out in! I wish you all the very best over the coming months and hope to see you again the next time we are visiting the Wirral :
I heard this place was under new management and decided to pay a visit. Enjoyed Sunday lunch here today. Two courses for under £10. I opted for the beef roast & it was excellent. All of the food is prepared & cooked fresh every day by chef Steve and his team with everything sourced locally. Staff couldn't do enough for us and Steve himself joined us at the end to make sure we were 100% happy. If you're after fresh ingredients, exceptional quality and astonishingly reasonable prices then pop in. This place is one to watch.
My family and I ate here for my daughters 21st birthday, 14 of us in all, cannot fault the place. From the moment we walked in till the moment we left we were made to feel like regulars, not a single complaint from any of my fussy eating family regarding the food, I myself had the steakmedium rare cooked to perfection. My wife and I will certainly be going again. As an added bonus I was pleasantly surprised by the price of the JOHN SMITHS on tap.
Great find. A welcoming and friendly host that offers attentive service without being intrusive. We enjoyed the fabulous grill offer and the food was great. My husband had the steak which was cooked exactly how requested and I had the chicken in white wine sauce which was tasty and well presented. And what a great price! Would definatly recommend.
Yuck! And rude management. Poor excuse of an eating establishment. The manager creates fake accounts to rate their service. If you like food don't go there. I was served grey potatoes.
Just had a roast was recommended by a friend don't like to moan ask for three things thay dident have it and I have never had a roast without roast potatoes was a little disappointed so we never stayed for desert went to our local for ice creams
