Story

Chef patron Warick Muir opened Oily’s in June 2008 since then it has carved out a reputation as one of Cumbria’s premier eateries. The food is classic British with a few Mediterranean elements.
At Oily’s we are dedicated to delivering beautifully presented food, created fresh to order from high quality ingredients and locally produced fresh produce from the Cumbria area.

We had a very good meal on Tuesday night. Service was excellent and the staff kindly played Happy Birthday for our 80 year old birthday boy. A lovely evening.

The most accommodating and friendly staff.. sorry for late review .. we were let down by a large restaurant at very short notice the Thursday before bank holiday..we were a large group of teenagers and adults the night before a charity ride C2C.. the manageress although were very busy already said we were more than welcome and created an area for us. The chef was great and stayed later than his shift and even came out and had a chat with us wishing us well the next day. the food was fabulous with plenty of choice. Everything was piping hot and presented beautifully.. highly recomended xx

Came here tonight and was not disappointed. Great food and portions were perfect, very clean place to eat with very attentive and well mannered chatty staff. Made to feel very welcome despite being a tourist and Oilys has a nice warm feeling to the place. Would recommend a visit here to experience the many dishes on offer as there is something for everyone here.

Excellent food. Great service. Really enjoyed the Ennerdale Blonde. Had the fish cakes and then the steak pie. Wife had the breaded mushrooms and veg fajita's. Would definately return.
