Have been going to this place for about 15 years used to go 2 or 3 times a week. Over the last 2 years I have gone less, probably 2 times a month. Went today paid £9.40 for kebab meat and chips the kebab container was half full, I asked is that right, she called someone over who said we only fill one side. So now the containers are smaller and they say that's what we do. Sorry ocean I won't be back. Hope you do well though as the owner with the relative in Doncaster is nice
Brilliant local chippy. Staff are always friendly and ready to serve you and have a chat while your waiting for your freshly cooked cod fillet, the large ones are quite generous easily filling a large plate, the chips too are enough if you are starving as they are a decent serving. The owners have done exceptionally well to keep prices affordable during the cost living crisis. Can't big this place up enough.
Just been to Ocean Blue chippy and had my usual order of a mini fish special and a scallop. Not only has the price gone up with a bump, but a small sausage is no longer included and the portion was ridiculously small. Time to find a different chippy after more than 15 years of being a regular customer
Wow so expensive.small chips & fish cake, small chips & sausages, small peas and a bread cake £15.30. chips were nice .the sausage the usual cheap chippy sausages but the fish cake stunk really fishy and tasted it too. Had to throw it in bin. Was definitely off. The mushy peas are bland and toxic green .Don't waste your money maybe travel a bit further people of chap. Parking: Parking at the rear
Called in and just got a large cod. I think this may have been £8.85. Paid with a £10.00 note and got £1.00 change. The fish was great but the batter was a soft, awful mess. I will not be returning.Food: 3/5
Food, choice and service consistently good. Be careful if you use the back car park, my vehicle was badly damaged whilst I was collecting my order, staff said the cameras couldn’t detect my car on them even though it was parked right in the middle of the car park, I only needed to know if another car or cars had come in and left whilst I was there then I could have followed it up, very frustrating indeed. Been a good customer there for some time but they’ve lost my custom now. Parking: 9/10
Really disappointed with the quality of the food for the price we paid. We ordered a kids cod bite meal and a cod bite all day special that cost £8.30. The chips were very dry and the cod bite was very small and quite greasy. We haven't been here for a while as there is a chippy in High Green we normally use The Circle which is a lot cheaper and a lot better. As we were passing by and walking, I thought I'd give them one last try. Unfortunately I won't be returning back. The lady that works there in her 60s is lovely though and offers great customer service.
