Would have given 0 stars if it wasn’t for Dr Begum, she is the reason I am still at the surgery. Can never get a face to face appointment, telephone appointments are rare but when you do get a telephone appointment symptoms are wrongly diagnosed and you’re rushed off the phone. You’re better off calling 111 or enduring the 10 hour wait in A&E. Surgery is negligent, receptionist staff are gatekeepers and rude.
This surgery deserves a huge boost in it's star ratings. Many issues that have occurred previously have now been dealt with, especially with regard to telephone answering. They are one of the only surgeries offering f to f or telephone apointments, whichever you prefer, in the area. They all work extremely hard to offer the best they possibly can, taking into account all the issues that arise within the NHS. Credit where it is deserved.
Service is poor. I always have to wait so long to be seen, despite arriving promptly for my appointment. Today they held a new record by leaving me waiting 45 minutes. When I finally got in to see the doctor there was no apology for the delay or anything. When I told her how long I waited she explained that some appointments overrun etc but for 45 minutes you could at least have the courtesy to tell me you’re running late or apologise at the very least. They have no respect for people’s time, I’m incredibly disappointed.
I just want to say a bit thank you to Debbie receptionist for your kindness, words of encouragement and empathy towards me. You went out of your way to make sure I received my blood result, you were there for me when I was so down and your encouragement goes a long way. I just wanted to big up Oakfield Health Centre. While there are some frustrating aspects to the surgery, I’m lucky I can easily call into the doctors personally to make an appointment. The staff have always been really friendly and helpful to me. We dealt with Zoe this week, who is a clinical practitioner. She provided some timely advice for my elderly dad and he’s now back on the road to recovery.
Have been with oakfield health centre for around 5 years. Appointments used to be a lot easier and quicker to get but with all doctors waiting times have gone up. When I needed an emergency appointment a doctor rang me back within minutes of me hanging up, couldn’t fault them! Absolutely fantastic! When ringing to get an appointment it does take a long time to get through, but that’s what happens when lord of people try and get an appointment. All doctors surgery’s are over stretched!! Best doctors surgery we’ve ever been to!
I registered with Oakfield Health Centre about a month ago. The receptionist staff were all so helpful and professional and the nurse who took my blood tests for my health check was so nice, communicating to me in such a friendly manner putting me at ease. My first appointment with the doctor was a worrying one with breast problem. The doctor was so nice talking to me in a caring way, putting me at ease. His referral to the breast clinic at Darent Valley hospital was so quick and I was seen within 10 days of his referral and everything was fine. I'm happy that I chose this GP Health Centre after moving from London to Gravesend The only minor issue I have is the length of time it takes to answer the phone especially in the morning. But once you get through the staff are helpful and polite.
The worst medical service I've ever had. Calling Oakfield Health is never a pleasant experience. You'll be greeted by receptionists with no empathy or care...and well, that's essentially where the service ends because you won't be able to see a doctore even if your leg is hanging off. In fact, the best they'll be able to do is a telephone appointment in 2 weeks time. Immediately looking for a new surgery.
Seriously poor reception staff... discuss personal information openly. Not enough staff on the reception to check people in or answer phones. Holding for over 40 mins to get through on phone. Clinical staff are excellent and very thorough. Reception staff massively let the surgery down.
If members of the public need to wear a mask to come into the building which is understandable. Please ensure all staff members in reception are doing the same when talking to the public. Can’t tell patients they need to wear a mask or you’re unable to help them if the reception team are not doing the same. Please follow the same rules as the patients
