O'Connell Bridge is a landmark, from Here you can access all of dubling, this was our origin point almost every morning, lots to see from here, and its historical stories are very interesting.
Not an architectural marvel but busy busy with people, bicycles, scooters, cars, busses, trams and even horses and buggies! Great place to watch the busy city!
O'Connell Bridge formerly known as Carlisle Bridge is a road bridge spanning the River Liffey in Dublin, and joining O'Connell Street to D'Olier Street, Westmoreland Street and the south quays.
Not worth a visit from an architectural view, but it’s historical significance makes it relevant. Really busy with floods of people, even on a literally freezing December day just before Christmas. Very diverse area with many, many nationalities mingling together. A place that beggars usually sit around asking for change.
One of many central bridges to cross in city centre to heading south Dublin, every time I walk that bridge, I have the idea, that I walk on some historic Bridge and suddenly "I travel back in time...and return back today". Is really unbelievable that people walks and ignore the history of some sites we visit
Great little place in the middle of Dublin. The bus we took from the airport stopped here which gave us our first sight of the river. Our hotel was a 5 minute walk from here so we saw it regularly during our stay. Great view of the river both up and down stream. O'Connell Street is really busy with loads of shops, restaurants etc all along it. The palm trees I'm sure are a sure sign of true Irish humour which you see by my photo .
This bridge is really fantastic. I used it as a pedestrian a few times and the price is right free. As far as bridges go, I couldn't ask for better. It allowed me to go from one side of the river to the other nice and dry.
Well, it's a bridge. Nice though. They say it is wider than it is long.
The fact states that the width of the bridge is longer than it's length. The reason being the chaos and crowd of all the traffic could cross smoother. The view from o connels extends till the end of Dublin city and till the start of Dublin bay.
beautiful bridge from which you can admire the river and take great photos
