First time we have visited this lovely cafe, and it definitely won't be the last. The food was very tasty and the service was top notch. It was quite busy when we attended, but the staff coped with it we'll. We look forward to our next visitFood: 5/5
Called in for a midweek treat at one of our favourite cafés in Bury, always a real delight, staff are so good, nothing too much trouble, food as always, delicious ,freshly prepared piping hot with excellent portion size. The menu gives you plenty of choice with something for everyone. There is always a relaxing atmosphere in a great ,comfortable surroundings. This little gem is tucked away slightly off the mainstream shopping area but its easy to find and well worth a visit.
Quirky decor, great cakes, nice fresh homemade meals not a lot of that in Bury now with all the chains and franchises, non-UPF food is a rarity! The kitchen is upstairs so meals are brought down to the seating area and it's amazing what they can do in a little Victorian building with a tiny shop front. Service is always exceptional, friendly, cheerful and efficient. Good selection of teas. It only loses one start because it's not the best coffee for my taste as I prefer it smaller and stronger, but this is a personal preference - it's a great cafe for hot meals and tea and cake. The homemade chilli is always good. The novelty of the decor and ornaments related to number ten downing street always gives you something to look at and talk about.
Its an experience ' like going down the Rabbit hole in wonderland . . .Very quaint ' lots of clutter Alice In wonderland theme the food is nice and hot and I love that . Cheese pie didn't look fab but it taste great . My clothes and hair smelled of food when l left ' AND FOR THAT REASON IAM OUT ps there's no room for a person over weight never mined a wheelchair . And if you want to go to the toilet I suggest you strap your self to a climbing rope and take a sherpa . Wheelchair accessibility: There isn't any ' you would be hard pressesed to get a big person in there let alone a wheelchair and that would be a health and safety hazard . Going to the toilet is not for the very young or very old or disabled bodied people . The stairs are so steep you need a sheep's guide . . .
It's not a big place and l would say if you don't eat meat it may not be for you. There isn't a kitchen as such, the cooking is done behind the counter. I was there quite early and feeling a bit under the weather and the smell of the bacon cooking was over powering. Not a problem if you eat it. The staff were very nice.Food: 4/5
This little gem is absolutely fabulous! Food beautiful and felt very happy and relaxed when in the cafe. The place is decorated so fun and interesting will be our new regular place
Lovely gem near Bury The Rock! Visited today and had an afternoon combo cream tea for two and it was delicious, as well as good value for money! £15 in total, in which you get a portion of homemade soup in lovely little pots, your choice of sandwich, wrap or bagel, salad as a garnish, a scone with clotted cream and jam, as well as tea or coffee! Extremely filling! The staff were so lovely, great customer service. Despite it being a Saturday, it wasn't very busy at 2pm, and the seats in the back are very cozy, offering a perfect environment for a catch up with friends! Children friendly and clean, would strongly recommend if you're looking to get away from the buzzing crowds in The Rock : will return! :
