Know it's good when homemade bread is served warm and toasted with homemade butter too. We got the mussels and squat lobster starters- decent portions not the small, meagre amount type of starters- both fresh and local. fish curry is lovely and so is the cod linguine. Then had chocolate torte for dessert.
I ordered Queenies. As an appetizer they cost £10 for four. The server asked if I wanted them as a meal for £20. I said yes but 8 clams is not a meal. They should have come with at least one side of vegetable and/or some rice or pasta. I left hungry. My husband had the cod with linguine which was generous and tasted very good. Fish and chips were also a good portion. But they were out of scallops as an appetizer and offered squat lobster instead, which had very little meat on them so it is a good thing the couple could share the fish and chips.
Had quality seafood dishes in this quaint yet modern restaurant. Mussels are so fresh; not rubbery at all. Fish curry is exceptional, must order! Also ordered Cod Linguine, which was amazing too.nnValue-for-money meal given the fresh choice of ingredients used in this restaurant.
The best fish and chips I've eaten, and I've had fish and chips in Whitby. What a delicious restaurant this is. If you love seafood then you need to eat here. Prices are good for such polished cuisine. First time I've had truffle clarified butter with homemade bread... absolutely delish. The dog was allowed in as well. Fabulous.
A nice seafood restaurant. A small selection of really nice looking dishes, it was a tough decision because I wanted to try them all. It was pretty busy, but the waitress fit us in, service was prompt and friendly.nnThe food was good, the chef letting the ingredients shine through. The smoked platter was very good. Never tried smoked mussels before, but will do again. The gravlax was very good too. I wasn't a big of the whisky & onion chutney though, didn't really bring anything to the party for my palate.nnAll in all a really good meal.
