TOXIC industrial spraying in the children's pool!! While the children and mothers swim within 10 feet of the chemical spraying!! I went for a swim yesterday, drove across Glasgow, looking forward to my swim, only to stop after 1 minute swimming because I did not feel well, I coughed, I could even taste industrial varnish and I looked around to see, to my astonishment, a man in black overalls wearing an industrial fumes mask spraying something on the wall of the children's play pool within feet of children and parents. I called on the attendant to ask for information and ask if the man could stop spraying. After talking with the spraying employee,the attendant came back to tell me that the man said he was wearing the mask in case he sprayed himself in the face. He had no goggles/safety glasses on so I did not understand this explanation. The man shook his can and continued spaying. I asked to speak to the manager. The mother got out of the water and said she was going to lodge a formal complaint. I waited for the manager, sitting by the pool, breathing the product, coughing, while the young attendant reassured me the manager was coming. After 10-15 minutes of waiting, I ended up going to the reception in my swim suit asking to speak to him. I was approached by a woman, another customer, who asked me if I was complaining about the pool. I said yes and explained to me that she and another family complained last week about the spraying and had to leave to pool quickly. When I finally talked to Colin, the Duty Manager, he told me resin was being sprayed, that it was safe, that no I could not see the can and no I could not see the Health and Safety Report done on the products being used, and that he was not aware of any complaint the week before! Upon returning to the changing room, a family was coming back from the pool seconds after entering it, the grand mother saying she felt her breathing allergy starting again. I returned to the reception where I waited for a long time for Colin to speak to me again, to repeat the same things. This time, he had been made aware of the nearby woman's complaint last week. I asked to speak to a senior manager. Dario P... giani came, Operation Manager, with a robotic, unfriendly and cold attitude who just repeated the same drivel. When I asked why I could not see the spray can nor the health and safety report he replied it was confidential and that everything was safe and according to regulations in the building. This time there was a spin on the employee's reason for wearing a mask: "it was his personal choice to wear one". So is this an admission that no Health and Safety Assessment was carried out and the employee was left to decide if the product was unsafe for him to breathe, as no directives had been put in place to protect him? I also asked Dario P. how come a few of us tasted the product and coughed, to which he replied 'it was just the smell you smelled', so I told him how lucky we are that we can smell fumes without inhaling the particles! Also he said that they cannot repair the pool at night, and that they are a very family friendly pool (!!). I told him I had spent an hour in the building just for a shower and waiting around after breathing fumes that made me cough. He told me if I wasted my time I could always use the Glasgow Central pool. Totally unacceptable. This gym calls itself a Health club. More like a toxic box for young children and adults!! Failing to protect the public's health, children's especially, and by the sound of Dario P.'s statements, their employees' health as well.

They have a cafeteria that used to open until 8 pm they cut that back until 6pm that’s fair enough if there not busy I went to order food there and they said they stop serving hot food at 5pm it was 4.53 when I ordered I was only wanting a toasty what’s the point of opening till 6 with no hot food after 5 she said she had turned of the machine and they wondered why it’s not busy the cafe really is a waste of space in that corner over priced and over rated some one from management really does have to look at it there is no way it’s making money Like the rest of the gym no staff and no clue

The facilities is fine, the fitness trainers are helpful. But booking a swimming lesson was a pain, the reception don't want to help at all. I have been emailing the swimming mangers for a week just to book the appointment with the instructor.. they made it very very difficult . They take my number and never call me. . I felt like they are doing thier services for free, no customer service at all.They m

Very large branch of the Nuffield Health gym chain. Above average gym facilities for a Nuffield Health - equipment is older than most other sites but there are more duplicates due to floor space so next to no queuing for equipment. No laundered towels on premises which is poor for visitors with Wellbeing memberships.
