We came to see Cinderalla today and honestly the music, lights , costumes and acting were absolutely amazing! We were thoroughly entertained by the seamless flow of the show and had a brilliant time! Northern stage is an asset for Newcastle I always find the staff so kind and helpful even under pressure. They will go out of their way to help . The building itself is in the middle of the city so easy to travel to. We will definitely go again.
Saw Mohand and Peter on stage 3 which has no allocated seating March 2024. Lovely and intimate setting, staff friendly. Bar is a bit pricey £10 for a wine and a hot chocolate but tasted good. Nice modern styling with plants and hanging lights. I was a bit confused with the doors as we walked from the back side of building and nearly went in stage 3 through the stage door. Website very helpful with regards to access etc
Plenty of legroom! Good views of stage. Good access to seats. Cafe/drinks. All Neat and tidy. Nice size overall.
Had some coffee/ food in the cafe. Lovely seating, some chairs by the window looking out onto the green area at the front. A few sofas etc. Great place for a coffee and chill out, obviously frequented by students and visiting parents. Superb sandwiches coming with interesting salag, coleslaw in a separate dish and crisps. All for £6.50. Coffee was hot and acceptable, nice flavour and not bitter but cups smallish. Staff very helpful, friendly l and considerate. Service efficient. Toilets clean. They are downstairs but there is a lift. Overall very enjoyable and pleasant.
It took 30 minutes ! to bring a kids box sandwich, fruit, veg sticks, drink out from the kitchen. If you have a kids show on and know you'll have dozens of children at the venue, and you even decide ONLY to sell kids boxes, then at least have these boxes prepared and ready to leave the kitchen? When asking if the box would be ready soon I got the answer "I don't know, I'm only front of house" :/ Not a good experience at the cafe unfortunately, though the show was great!
Great space, great atmosphere and a wonderful show. It was absolutely buzzing last night for I, Daniel Blake. Fabulous! People make theatre....Front of house staff are really nice and helpful.
Brilliant theatre went to see the Underdog The Other Other Bronte show there but i tried to meet a celeb there at the stage door to give her a little gift and the security for Newcastle University told me to leave in a nasty way and I wasn't doing anything wrong i was only waiting at the stage door so i recommend not to go to the stage door at all for signatures
I went to see The Lighthouse last night with my boyfriend and it was amazing. Had me emotional as well especially when ‘Bird of Sorrow played as I imagined me and my beautiful boyfriend dancing, still was on the way back as it really hit home for me as I have bad anxiety and can get depressed I have autism along with my boyfriend and sometimes get throughs like that and that week I was very low with anxiety and depression both of us have hard a stressful few months with work and that, and we’ve just kept each other going and this just felt like a massive hug. After the show I was just hugging my boyfriend and we telling each other how much we loved each other got emotional together, and talked about mental health and told my parents I loved them. It was absolutely amazing, 100/10 from me. Remember, you are NEVER alone!
Our family go here when we can. We saw Zog and the flying Doctors last time. Great time. But the cafe can run low of supplies at times as it gets busy.
My daughter 4yrs and I absolutely LOVE each and every visit here. The performances are always 5*. The venue is full of helpful staff, clean, and with great access and facilities. It really does tick every box. We love it!
