About

Bed and Breakfast accommodation in the town of Largs, North Ayrshire

Story

Built during the 1930's, Northend guest house has recently undergone an architectural redesign and refurbishment which now offers 4 individual guest accommodation rooms.

Situated within its own walled and hedged gardens, access is by a secure gated entrance framed by an arch of cherry and rowan trees which opens into a gravel driveway providing private parking for up to 7 vehicles.

Beautiful country scenic views are enjoyed from both the property and its grounds across to the isle of Cumbrae, Noddleburn and through the vista of the Brisbane Glen.

Northend offers a quiet location and relaxed stay whilst still only being a 10-15 minute walk along the promenade to the town centre.

The Northend is an excellent B&B. Simply put, we've paid a lot more in the past for significantly lesser experiences in hotels. From the moment we arrived, Allison and Ray were extremely friendly, thoughtful and helpful. The room, Brisbane Glen, was really well appointed - a good size, stylishly furnished, warm and comfortable. The bathroom was huge with a roll top bath and separate power shower, with emphasis on the power! We had a great sleep in a comfortable bed. Breakfast was amazing - there's a large choice of cereals, fruits, pastries and juices, tasty fresh filter coffee, and a good choice of hot breakfast items thereafter. The Full Scottish breakfast was both delicious and enormous. We loved our stay and when we're back in the area, we'll certainly be trying to book here again!

An all round AMAZING place. Not a bad word to say about this lovely guest house. The rooms were immaculate. Beautiful interiors made us feel like we were really spoiling ourselves staying here. The decoration was finished to a very high standard and we wanted for nothing during our stay. Our bathroom was spectacular and the beds gave us a glorious nights sleep. The hosts, Ray and Allison, were absolutely lovely. We were spoilt for (a fantastic) breakfast and it's clear that they take great pleasure in ensuring their guests have a smile on their faces. The best B&B we have stayed in. We will be back soon!

Can't comment, the property overlooks our house and would not have any reason to use it

Northend Guesthouse has to be the best guesthouse that I have ever stayed in (so far). I arrived by bike after cycling from Houston (21.5 miles) over the tops and down the back road to be greeted by the lovely warm and welcoming Allison. (Who reminded me a little of Lorraine Kelly - I'm sure she wont mind me saying that). No problems with safely storing our bikes in the rather large "Man Shed" which was Ray's sanctuary and party venue apparantly. Was then escorted to the Cumbrae twin room where we were to stay for the next 3 nights. The room was spotlessly clean and felt extremely homely! Allison offered to make a pot of tea for me which was most welcoming after my ride - it arrived with cakes, biscuits and shortbread - wow!! Everything in the room worked perfect, the shower was spacious and could be quite powerfull if you turned it on full. Breakfasts were all superb - lots of cereals, fruit, yoghurts, croissants, muffins and pain au chocolats (my favourite) on offer besides the full cooked options. The dining room was all set out perfectly too with matching crockery - nothing was mismatched, it looked like a five star hotel set-up. Nothing we requested was too much trouble for Ray and Allison. We even gave our wetsuits a fresh water blast with the garden hose which was extremely appreciated as they can be a bit difficult to clean without a bath. On the whole - we thought the price we paid to stay at such a very high standard of accommodation was extremely brilliant value for money (please dont put the price up now I've said that!) and we absolutely loved every minute of our stay here and just did not want to leave - we have warned Allison and Ray that we are definately returning sometime - we just hope it will be sooner rather than later.
