North Sea Fish Restaurant is a hidden gem for fish and chips! The pub-style atmosphere makes it perfect for a casual lunch or dinner. I tried the Plaice Fillet and it was cooked to perfection - crispy and delicious. The staff is incredibly friendly, although the service can be a bit slow. Nonetheless, it's definitely worth the wait!Food: 4/5
First and foremost the service.. Incredibly polite, incredibly helpful, incredibly cheerful!! Such lovely people, keen to guide you on the food and happy to joke in polite and respectful fashion. The restaurant itself has a nice quaint setting that just feels warm and cosy. The food was good value for money, particularly when compared to other London seafood spots I've been to. The mixed platter was a lovely introduction to the menu with a nice mix, and each one was a good bite rather than other seafood places where you get past the breadcrumbs and there's hardly anything. The chips that came with the food were nice and chunky. Between us, we had the sea bream, halibut and Dover sole. My friend thought the halibut was OK but the other two dishes were quite good, although not overly seasoned the fish was clearly fresh and good quality cooked perfectly.
I have been waiting years for good fish and chips. Everything was cooked to perfection. The homemade tarter sauce was wonderful. I had the fried cod, chips, fresh garden peas and a hard apple cider. Portion sizes for chips and peas were huge. Nice cozy restaurant with a warm atmosphere. Great place to take a date or eat alone. I will be back.
This is fish and chips, served in a nice sit down restaurant. A fantastic piece of cod, firm and flaky, with a delightful crispy batter. And the chips? Delicious - crisp and hot and a beautiful texture. But what I liked was the tartar sauce, thick and chunky and served in a ramekin, along with ketchup. If you’re going to spend any time searching for the best fish and chips in London, add this to your list.
Lovely place to have fish and chips. This is my first time to try authentic British cuisine in London ! I’ll come again next time hopefully. The gentleman waiter looks like a senior manager with a charming accent and very dark hair was so friendly and humorous to us. “ have a lovely evening, daring !” ; It was a freezing night, but the fresh dinner and he did warm our hearts with much smile and courtesy. The old waitress had been very cold to us with long face all the time ; I remember she spoke Spanish to another waiter who was not very friendly, either. After checking, I said thank you , but she still remained long face without saying any word. I never understood. Coz we were very polite and clean in the place. So, 4 stars, sorry…
The food was amazing, genuinely the best fish and chips I've had since moving to London. I will definitely be taking my family here when they visit. Highly recommend getting a reservation because even on a Wednesday evening it filled up fast! Will be coming back again. I had the haddock with egg matzo.
Excellent service, excellent food, Very quaint authentic English pub feel. Comfy seats, clean restaurant. Very tiny one person bathroom. Had a romantic wonderful dinner here. If you want to dine alone or with your person...you just have to go here for a evening meal..or lunch
Went for the 'best fish & chips' but the other dishes wee better. The veggie soup was very tasty and nourishing and seemed homemade, the shrimp cocktail was delicious, but the fish & chips - the supposed star of the show - were just so so. We had the haddock and although the portion size was generous the breading was a bit soggy and the fish was not that firm or tasty. The pople were very nice though :
The best fish & chips in London in terms of food quality and customer care. Picture is not taken at freshly cooked status. Still taste very good. Yummy sauce.
Fish 3.5 points not as good as my first time here at all, fries 2.5 points is not very good, the first time I left half of the fries did not eat, probably because I came to the time is one in the afternoon, not now fried or not fried well. The key is the older waitress attitude is very cold, see I am foreign tourists English general, very condescending, completely do not introduce us to the dishes, no end water, checkout clearly and others have to say thank you but did not say a word with us, even we said thank you she did not respond to us! Make the mood very bad, waiters do not forget their duties, so condescending please do not do service industry!
