As soon as I walked in I was greeted not only by the staff but the locals. The atmosphere is amazing. The people are awesome and the food If you're down this way and you don't stop in for the company or the food then you haven't done West Cornwall proper.Rooms: 5/5
One of the best pub meals I've had in a long time. I had the game pie which was terrific and the other half had the Jamaican goat which was also terrific. Washed down with some korev! Lovely evening!
We just finished eating about 10 minutes ago and we had to rave about this lovely hidden gem. The food was delicious, I had a cheeseburger and it was juicy and delectable. It was presented in a lovely, rustic manner. The food was prompt as well. The gentleman behind the bar didn't mind investigating possible allergens for my husband, which really made us feel accepted and welcome. Absolutely beautiful pub and as an added bonus dogs are welcome! Also, I spotted a varied assortment of card/board games available to enjoy. I will highly recommend The North Inn to anybody that will listen
Great rural community pub. Well-maintained and furnished, and cosy log burners with nice atmosphere/vibe. Very friendly and helpful proprietors and bar staff, with overall top service. Friendly locals and regulars, too, and I was made very welcome. Good well-kept St Austell Brewery beers in cask the Tribute was excellent on the day I visited, and some others in bottle, and tasty food I had Scampi & Chips from the standard menu, which was excellent, but the pub is mostly renowed for its curries, which I aim to try another time. Certainly a place to visit again and as regularly as I can. I didn't stay in the accommodation, so I can't comment, but I expect that it is of similarly good quality and a great base for a longer stay. Nearby activities: Close to iconic coastal/landscape and historic mining areas. Safety: Very friendly pub. Walkability: Short walk from bus stop; and, if you're energetic, then the coastal footpath. Food & drinks: Good range and quality of food and drink.
This is not the first time we have been in the North Inn. It is still friendly and has a lovely warm atmosphere. Food is good value for money. Good selection of beers.Service: 5/5
Sad to say, it was the worst curry I've ever been served, totally tasteless... and paying through the nose for it too... and how is it actually possible to make a curry tasteless anyway..?? 2 minutes in the micro with a Lidl's tikka masala would literally have been 10 times better for a 1/5th of the cost.. Can't speak for the other meals on the menu but the curries were truly awful..probably could have done better making it myself at home blindfolded. Avoid. Service gets 1 star as the meals were actually delivered to your table, after quite a long wait I may add, but no staff were interested in asking you if everything was ok with your meal, like all other places that serve sit-down meals, apart from McDonald's of course, so that pretty much sums up the whole mind set of their "hospitality" for their patrons Actually deserves a zero star rating in my opinion but that won't allow you to write a review at all, hence the 1 star to get things started.
Simply love the place. Wouldnt be anywhere else. Kizzz, Boot, Jane Lisa, Marcus you are amazing and John for his authentic amazing curries. Bless all of you xxxService: 5/5
We stopped for lunch at the North Inn after visiting Levant Mine. We enjoyed an absolutely fantastic lunch; it was delicious and freshly prepared, compliments to the chef We will definitely return. Great menu, great ales, great service, 5 stars all the way!Service: 5/5
Fantastic curries, selection of about 7-8 different ones. Busy but no wonder. However food came pretty quick. Menu does offer other pub classics but we couldn't say no to a good curry Nice staff Would definitely return if in the area
Not the first time I have visited this amazing “real” Cornish pub. Was staying near Portreath, drove down just for the excellent “ploughman’s lunch” served. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed them I appreciate the pub is famous for its curries, they’re for next time. We arrived at the start of lunch service and really enjoyed the fantastic conversations we had with the landlord and a couple of the locals, most notably a recently retired fisherman. Conversation topics were varied and I am assured by my wife that she felt fully included as well, an unusual thing nowadays. If you want a traditional, friendly, Cornish pub, with good food. Make sure you call into the North inn. I said to the landlord that nothing had changed since I last called in a couple of years ago, so he changed a build to show me that change does happen.
