In my experience, the CCG does not take sexual assault by a General practitioner (GP) seriously; they did not provide me with any support. The case was discontinued at court whilst the Detective inspector was on annual leave. The five year formal warning from the GMC is an insult. My GP medical records have gone missing, resulting in the GP being unable to complete an immunisation record form for occupational health. Shockingly, it seems that the CCG irresponsibly released my GP medical records to the GP who I was sexually assaulted by, after the court case and that he did not give them to my new GP. I asked the CCG the following questions, but they did not care sufficiently to provide me with a reply. 1. What steps your organisation has since taken to prevent GPs from sexually assaulting service users (patients). 2. What provision for support you have put in place for survivors of sexual assault by a GP. 3. I was unable to change my GP in order to get away from Dr *****, despite what Dr ***** was doing and thus had to endure continued escalation of his inappropriate behaviour- have you now made it possible for people to change their GP if they are being sexually assaulted by their current one, even though they are already registered with a GP in the area? 4. A consultant (Dr *****) informed me that it wouldn't happen in the UK. Have you made provision to educate your staff that some of your GPs have sexually assaulted service users in the past and that it could happen again? 5. I have, since, been forced to see male staff; if you took the issue of sexual assault by a physician, seriously, that should not happen. 6. What steps has your organisation taken to ensure that when a service user discloses to a member of staff that s/he is being sexually assaulted by a physician, that they are required to do something, such as notifying an appropriate authority.
