As other people have described we hadn't even got through the door and door man being quite rude and aggressive said we were not coming in because we were too drunk, we were 3 friends who had been out for my 40th! Never in my life have I been refused entry to a club or pub in Leeds! Will never try frequent this place again when there are so many other nicer places, seemed dodgy to me
Fine, flashy bar that's decorated like a Seventies sauna - all burnt orange leather banquettes, drip lighting and wood panelling. Nice drinks although not that cheap but lacking a bit in atmosphere - although we did go at 5pm when there were only 2 tables full. Sure it's more fun at night time.
went to this bar tonight with my better half and a couple of friends, for some reason while queueing for the toilet i was escorted outside for being 'too pissed', i had done nothing wrong, and caused no offence, and upon re-entering the bar was co-operative and forthcoming while finding my companions. the head bouncer, without any prior knowledge still insisted i was 'too drunk' i feel this statement an hour or so after said event suggests otherwise. I gathered my friends and better half and will never go here again, i can only advise others to do so. avoid avoid avoid.
Good cocktails and great selection of spirits. Music is a mix of disco house hip hop soul rnb. Very popular on weekends. If you are on Call Lane it has to be a must visit. Just make sure to get there early or book a booth otherwise you will be queuing to get in.
AGE DISCRIMINATION ALERT I DO NOT rate Norman's bar at all. A group of us all ladies with a variety of ages visited Saturday 12th October 2013 and half the group were refused, the reason given was too old and not of the bars clientele! The ladies in the group ranged from 37 to 60 and do not look their ages and to be honest this is disgusting and discriminating! I spoke to the Bar Manager who informed me that this was acceptable and he leaves the decision up to the bouncers?! I would avoid this at all costs.
Me and my hubby went to spend some money in this virtually empty bar on Saturday night 16/12/17. We couldn't get in as my hubby had brown suede trainers on. The bouncers...I can't bring myself to call them doorstaff.. were so rude! They were just ogling totty walking down the street. Urghhhh! I happily told them we would spend our money elsewhere. And we did..at Neon Cactus over the road. An infinitely better experience. Their review will be glowing! If any of the owners are interested in talking to me about this.. please add a comment and I will come and talk to you about it.
I was apparently dressed too casual to get into this bar, though removing a layer of clothing to reveal a t-shirt would have made me smart enough to enter. Like going to a small town bar that's still stuck in the early 1990's. I refused and went to one of the many other bars and had no trouble entering how I was dressed.
Friday night, 630pm was very quiet...only me and my friends in, but we had a good time especially as prosecco was £10/bottle!! I am sure it'll be busy later on in the evenings but it was ok for a pre dinner drink. Low rafting given cos it was so quite and so lacked atmosphere at 630pm
I have never been insulted in my whole life last Saturday 12th October 2013 and it split up a very successful HEN PARTY NIGHT. A few of us had gone into Norman Bar and didn't have any problems but a few of the stragglers were told that we could not go in because we were too old [the lady he said it to was only 40] and another lady was told that she was too casually dressed!!!! I am absolutely appalled at the way we were treated and won't be going back there! JK Skipton North Yorkshire
Bouncers have a big attitude problem and the places needs a good scrub. Service behind the bar is always shocking and the toilets are always filthy and/or have unlockable doors. Worst bar on call lane by a mile
