Victoria Hospital is a vital health facility for patients in Fife.
I was in the NTC wards for total knee replacement July 10th. I have to say from start to finish all the staff were so professional. Couldn't fault anything as I was made to feel at ease at all times. Well done.
Can't say enough about NHS Fife. The job they do, day in, day out- and we have had it so long we take it for granted. In other countries you pay substantial fees for health care- here, you get free prescriptions, free dental, eyecare and free bed and board if you are sick. In the past, if I sprained my ankle, I'd go to hospital. Not today. There isn't anything they can do so why burden them. I would only go if I was in danger of death because it is becoming so strained, we could lose it. And if it goes private, we will all feel it and suffer. So, support your local NHS by not going to A+E for a minor ailment, don't clog up the place because you had too much to drink and fell over etc. Just putting that out there.
The National Treatment Centre is a lovely new purpose built centre with helpful reception staff and lovely nursing staff. Unfortunately there was no parking available at all and I had to park some distance away with my husband who had just had an op 3 days before. Hence 4 stars.
I found a breast lump approximately 3 weeks ago. I luckily managed to see a lovely trainee GP in Dalgety Bay Surgery who promptly referred me to secondary care.nWithin 7 days I had received a hospital appointment.nToday, at the Queen Margaret Breast Clinic I was met by a lovely and very very friendly nurse who alleviated some of my anxiety and fears. I then saw a Consultant who listened attentively to my story. He sent me for a mammogram and ultrasound. In the radiology department I was met by two lovely radiographers who gave me my mammogram the x-ray is not as painful as I had many years ago. From there, I was away for an USS, again another friendly Nursing Assistant to navigate me to the room. I saw two lovely further radiologists/surgeons. Who explained their findings thankfully it was nothing to worry about. I then saw the initial Consultant to discuss the results and discharge me from their care. He advised that if I any further problems just to inform my GP and be referred back.nThe service from GP to discharge was slick and professional. My appointment was at 0850. I was seen at 0845 early and left at 1015am after seeing 3 consultants, 2 radiographers, one nuse and one NA!! I'm sad to hear that some people have a bad experience with our NHS as, my experience was nothing but 5 star + and exemplary. Thank you from the bottom of my
