Tucked out of the way on the North East side of Porthcawl, just beyond the large caravan parks, Newton has sandy beaches interspersed with stone breakwaters and flood defences. Note that this can make access to the beach difficult when the tide is high. The beach backs on to dunes and you can really 'get away from it all' here. There is pay-and-display parking on rough ground behind the sea wall; but there is no shelter or any facilities here. In season it's a short walk into the caravan park, but even so, you're a fair way from any toilets. An ice cream van is usually present by the car park even out of season if the weather is reasonable.

Good beach to go to if you got a dog and enjoy beach life pretty clean but put of the way so couldn't expect any more from it

Great place to take the family! Plenty to do and see, and the shops are great with friendly staff.
There are plenty of photo opportunities around also, and walks to!

It’s a nice little beach , sheltered in a natural bay with warm water and soft sand. Because it’s so mild and sheltered, you get a few more wriggling and jumping creatures than on the more exposed beaches, but this isn’t really a big problem. Adjoined by the Merthyr Mawr Burrows dune system, so there’s plenty of exploring available.

Lovely long beach. Great for walking/running. Loads of sandy areas and tonnes of rock pools to play in. Close to merthyr mawr sand dunes which is a great walk. Dog friendly beach.
