We are very fortunate to have such a lovely venue right on our doorstep. My favourite area has to be the Japanese water garden. Though in truth I love the whole park. The abbey ruins are a delight to explore along with the house. Great for the whole family. Lots of space for the children to run around in and a lovely little play area hidden away in the park is open to all sorts of children's adventures.

This is one of the most beautiful places we have in Nottingham. You can walk around for hours. The grounds are so huge that even on a hot bank holiday you can find a quiet spot. The staff are great. You can go from traditional English country garden to the cool Japanese garden with exotic plants and tress. Arthur the peacock is a real character and will happily pose for a photo. There is parking, a great cafe and a park for kids. All of this and the fascinating life of Lord Byron. I ❤️ Newstead Abbey

Enjoyed the house and the grounds. It was free to go today as part of the Nottingham big day out. But I don't think I would have paid the £10 to go into the house. On top of the £6 parking fee. It was a mixture of Lord Byron and art on display. I feel a little more explanation on the history would be nice. Staff was all friendly and helpful. The Japanese garden was beautiful.

My LB loves it here, largely due to the waterfalls. On this occasion we visited for the Clique 53 car meet. It was a great day, perfect setting and the sun shone ☀️

A must visit site. Beautiful gardens with my favourite being the Japanese garden. The house is well worth the extra money but it's only open at weekends. Lovely little cafe where you will usually find the resident peacock strutting around. Away from the formal gardens there is so much space it that if you want to find a quite spot it won't be too hard. There are toilets situated between the cafe and formal gardens area. These are basic but clean. On entry to the grounds you pay a car parking fee that covers all occupants of the vehicle for access to the grounds. Lots of events planned at the venue throughout the year, especially during the school holidays, so most definitely worth a visit.
