We had a super time here! My granddaughter loved the indoor and outdoor activities. She enjoyed the craft session and taking part in the Teddy Bear Hunt. I'd certainly recommend a day at the Newarke Houses Museum!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Thank you so much to the lovely staff of Newarke houses museum for your service. The museum is well attended and very clean. We all enjoy our day trip today especially our little ones who love history and war.
Visited the Newark Houses Museum recently and had a fantastic experience! The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making the visit even more enjoyable. The museum itself is truly impressive with its extensive collection and informative displays. I was amazed by the variety of exhibits that showcased the rich history of the area. The attention to detail in each section was evident, and it's clear that a lot of effort has been put into creating an engaging and educational experience for visitors. Kudos to the staff for their warm hospitality and to the museum for providing such a well-curated and extensive journey through history. Highly recommend a visit to anyone curious about the past and eager to explore the local heritage!
Fantastic museum, plenty of exhibits from the past. Revealed the history of Leicester. Impressive 1st word war trench exhibition. Interesting story about shoes factory and a big man. Lot of things to find and discover. One of the places you must see while visiting Leicester. Museun are located close to city centre just in middle of university. No fee admissions. Free entry.
Lovely small free museum. We'll worth a visitVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
This was a nice place to visit with an eclectic collection of things to see from Leicester's past. From toys to collections of donated war medals and stories, every room held my attention. I wasn't ready for the replica 1950s street in the middle of it though, done really well and makes you pause in surprise. It's child friendly, freeyou can donate to support them, has toilets and a very nice garden to enjoy.
Very interesting museum, free to enter. Lots of information about the history of Leicester going back hundreds of years. I enjoyed the room made to look like a wartime Leicester high street, with all the shopfronts and old purchasable goods on display.
It is a tour for Leicester City History from Industry, Social Life & for Army ... Some are very nostalgic visuals , the second world war bunker ... with sound & light.. give to you a real life experience.... Must visit for young Kids, Wheelchair accessible, No Fees to Visit ....Visited onPublic holidayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
This is a free museum that has a variety of information about the Leicester area including reconstruction of shops over history.
What a great gem of two houses, two museums cultural and military and two gardens tucked away near the canal in Leicester. On our first visit we spent about 2 hours looking round. A really interesting collection of cultural and historical artifacts, even recreating an authentic street scene delving back into Leicesters history. The military exhibition includes a recreation of a ww1 trench. Quite peaceful and interesting gardens. No cafe on site but it is a free museum and there are benches in the garden if you want to sit and relax.
