Story

Welcome to New Wokingham Road Surgery. We are committed to giving our patients high standards of care in a friendly and supportive environment. We aim to achieve this by working together with our patients.

We provide extended opening hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 7.30 pm and on two Saturday mornings in the month. These appointments are pre-bookable only and our phone lines will be closed. Please look at our website for Saturday dates or call reception.

Dr Evans is a caring, kind and thoughtful doctor. He has been fantastic with all three of my teenagers and is a very good listener. He takes his time and and shows great empathy. So happy to have him as our GP.

Shocked to see a complaint regarding difficulty in booking appointments at New Wokingham Rd Surgery. I've been a patient here for nearly 15 years, and though I've had mixed experiences with the doctors over the years, I have never had a problem getting an appointment in less than a week. My partner has to wait weeks to get an appointment at her surgery, and is always shocked at how quickly I can get one at New Wokingham Rd. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to recommend this surgery, who I believe can be described as 'progressive', and keen to improve the service they provide - even if on occasion the patient-doctor experience dips a little, which I would put down to simple human factors.

Unhelpful doctors even when seriously ill. Ended up in hospital for over a month due to lack of basic observations and knowledge on common conditions. Even after this they still don't take my conditions seriously. Unfortunately I witnessed them giving the same poor treatment to another patient. Over the years I have been continually given the wrong advice by them and will be doing anything I can to avoid going there again! Only upside are the nurses who are helpful and don't disregard your problem before you even walk in the door.

Possibly depends on the doctor but can't say I am impressed. Took over a week and three chases just to get a referral letter and appointments are really difficult to book
