Referral from 10/6/24 not actioned by the doctors and I have only just found this out myself by chasing the service I had asked to be referred to. Understanding there was a very long waiting list for the specific referral, I waited over a year and chased last week. Was asked via email to complete form that clearly show should be completed WITH the doctor not on my own. I took the partially completed forms in today and asked if I could find out where I was on the waiting list. The receptionist told me the referral was sent on 10/06/2024 and gave me the number of the NHS gateway to chase this. I called them and was told by them the doctors sent the referral on 29/09/2025 - I have waited over a year to find out today the original referral was never sent. I am devastated.
I hope I don't jinx it but...nI was concerned about joining this practice, the amount of negative reviews was astonishing.nThat has not been my experience. I joined the practice about 3months ago and they have been nothing but prompt and professional. On one occasion I called to be screened for low iron and got a same day appointment. On another occasion, for my 3 year old, they called me to book a f2f appointment within seconds of receiving the NHS 111 report.nI'm sorry for everyone having a bad experience, mine doesn't erase yours. For new joiners, I'd just advise to give the practice a chance
nnI had a very disappointing experience at this practice recently. After my appointment, the doctor gave me a sample pot and asked me to return it to reception. When I did, the receptionist greeted me with a very rude, “Yes, what do you want?” — not the kind of attitude you'd expect in a healthcare setting.nnI politely explained that I was returning the test as the doctor instructed, but she abruptly told me they don't take it and that I should bring a new one tomorrow. Then she changed her story, saying the tests had already gone. There was no explanation, no guidance — just a dismissive attitude and unprofessional tone throughout.nnWhat made it worse was that two other ladies in the reception area felt so uncomfortable, they actually apologised on the receptionist's behalf. That says a lot.nnI hope the management addresses this. Patients deserve respectful, clear communication — especially when dealing with health concerns.
Totally disappointed with this centre and had been calling for an appointment since 8am for the past few days to treat a reoccurring wound that wouldn’t heal. I was told there were no appointments available and to contact e consulting which was a waste of time. Very poor service and reception unhelpful to accommodate.
If you’re looking for a GP surgery that actually sees patients, I would strongly advise avoiding Wokingham Medical Centre. During my pregnancy, they refused to see me despite legitimate concerns, and my written complaint about their lack of support went unanswered. This raised serious concerns for me about how they would care for my baby.nnUnfortunately, things didn’t improve. On two separate occasions, I’ve called regarding my now one year old child and was told there were no appointments available and to call 111. Both times, we ended up spending hours at Frimley Hospital for minor issues that could have easily been handled by a GP.nnRoutine appointments are almost impossible to get, and the reception staff are often dismissive and rude. Before you can even explain your concern, you’re abruptly told, “No appointments, call 111!”nnThe lack of accessibility and compassion is unacceptable for a medical practice.
