Today was the first time I'd visited the New Inn and what a great place. The staff were really friendly and it's a really big place that's very clean and well kept. I ordered a rump steak and I have to say it was delicious and one of the best steaks I've had in a "low priced" pub. The steak was juicy and good flavour. I'll be coming back with all the family**Edit : I've been back 3 times now , always good service and good value food
Saturday lunchtime and the place was not too busy. Staff were very attentive and could not fault the ordering process at the bar. Guiness was a good pint, however the food left an awfult lot to be desired. The entire mixed grill was overcooked and dry. I requested the steak medium, it was the most well done medium I've ever seen. Gammon steak was burnt but was tastiest part of the meal. The most enjoyable part was the pineapple and tomato. I was not asked how my meal was despite leaving my plate for 20 mins. Overall ... bar staff great.....chefs not so
Visited the New Inn with some friends for lunch. Comfortable seating and staff had set up some heaters to warm up the area on a snowy and cold day. Some of my friends chose the festive menu, which looked lovely, but I had a salmon salad, which was great apart from a very strong red onion. It took a while because a party of 26 had turned up just after we arrived, but that gave us longer to catch up. The puddings looked great, and I just had 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream to finish off my meal. Lovely staff and a good atmosphere made it a positive lunch experience, which we will be repeating.
Surely the best Hungry Horse I've been to. They open at 9 for breakfast all week aswell as on the weekend. The staff were friendly and hard working and invested in our enjoyment. Nothing was too much for them and my choice of vegan meals was delicious. Thanks, we'll definitely be back.
We like hung horse as they do good food and it great value. But I'm sorry to say when we went to the new Inn we was very disappointed. The food was not hot and some of the food was missing. Also the size of the stake was 1/4 the size we payed for. We did not see any staff and no one came to see if everything was OK. There was a singing in the other room but they had the door open which meant that we could not have a nice quiet evening. If we had know that they had a singer there and it was not going to be quiet we would of not gone there.
This is our local pub and for some reason we just hadn’t tried it. We went last night and were really impressed and could have kicked ourselves that we hadn’t been before! Great friendly staff, cheap food and drink and great atmosphere The menu was massive and if you can’t find something you like I would be amazed! We had the nachos and they were great and everything I saw coming out looked fab For the price you pay everything was top notch You really should try this little gem
The menu here is definitely meaty and burgers like the Quadzilla are a perfect example of this. At just under 14 quid at time of writing for a double burger with an additional 2 pieces of chicken on top with nacho sauce and chips on the side is to say a decent offer that I've been tempted by on more than one occasion. The staff are generally prompt with accurate updates of any potential delays, however they can seem a tad preoccupied with their work at times. This has however never swayed me from going and I will most certainly return in the future.
Awful! Our last visit was 6 months ago. Steak was so overdone, for the 4th time. Popped in over Easter weekend. Chrissy, the manageress, told us to leave as we were idiots. We asked why, as she was upsetting other patrons. She told us to just p!$$ off. Thank you Chrissy, I hope YOUR business, as you told me, continues to thrive in your presence. You never smile and always walk around like you truly do not like your job.
Lovely staff Unfortunately a few dishes out of stock husband ended up with his 3rd choice having said that when we got our food it was piping hot and good. The only thing that we were a bit shocked at were the plants at entrance a bed of dog ends floating in water and ice . Would be better not to have the pots .
Good food, great prices compared to other locals, service is a tiny bit slow at times but generally good - would recommend.
