It was lovely. The house is full of interesting objects that Daphne (who is also interesting) has collected over the years. We were served a lovely breakfast at our convenience and our dogs were welcome. We didn't take them, which was good because the stairs are not really suitable for larger dogs or ancient ones either, and we have one of each. The views from the bedrooms are truly remarkable and we have not complaints at all.

Thank you, Daphne!!! What a gem of a place. My girl and I did a 2 week road trip through the UK, staying at a variety of hostels, hotels and B&B's. We wanted to see the welsh town of Hay-on-Wye and therefore accidentally found the close by New Inn in Brilley. The hospitality of this wonderful woman makes you feel at home upon arrival. It isn't just an accommodation but more of a sanctuary. The Buddhist/zen influence, and the lovely decorated interiors ( feels like you're in a hobbit home in the Shire ) make this place so special. Daphne cooked us a delicious organic breakfast ( there's hens in the garden so A+ eggs ). This place is not for people who like to stay in generic corporate Hotels but adventurers, dreamers and kind hearted people who look for a cozy stay on the welsh/english border. Sort of a small Esalen to me..highly recommend it!
