Really yummy lunch for two. The £6 lunch option is a really treasure if you're on a budget but still want to enjoy good food. We opted for that and paired it with a delicious beef chow mein - full of tender meat, cabbage and tasty Noodles. Very good. Interesting atmosphere. Absolutely memorable host!
It was our first time we visited Manchester together and we visited China Town and walked past this restaurant after a guy said to us politely would you like a table for two but we polity turned it down and we went to look for other options however everywhere was fully booked. So we decided to go back here and see what it will be like. So we had a table given to us and it was quite busy but didn't affect us in anyway but we waited quiet a long time to be given our food. we both have a lot of patience when it comes to great food so we didn't have any complaints when the food arrived and when we tasted the food. It was delicious. We will be back again for sure!!!!! A lot of respect for this place! Thank you for your pleasant service and food!
Please be awared that you will have to wait 20 mins to get the menu, 30mins for the drink and another 10mins for the food. We have finished the food within half an hour but having to wait an hour is ridiculous. Very very slow customer service. They did not really know what to do. We even saw some other clients left after waited a long time. - The roasted chicken was completely cold and greasy. - The Ha cao was uncooked, cold and the xiu mai were full of pork fat. - Xa chiu fried rice was ok but not much flavor - Mixed vegetable was plain. A very small class of pepsi was £2,5 and it was not even served in the bottle or can. The Pepsi was brought to us when it's already in the class. Not recommended and will not come back here again.
Ordered through Deliveroo, where restaurant was offering 30% off the full menu. Sorry to say it was one of the most disappointing takeaways we have had. The king prawn curry pictured which would have been £12 but had 30% off was less than a third of the container that is the full portion shown and was unlike any king prawn curry I have sampled, it wasn't eaten. Portions were very small apart from the lemon and honey chicken which was as expected and tasted nice. This and the sweet and sour chicken were the only dishes from our order which we enjoyed. Salt and pepper chips shown originally £4 but paid £2.80 were a tiny portion and poorly seasoned. Our order in total was £52.01, and for two of us we struggled to fill two plates. Apart from the lemon chicken it was like they had halved all their portions in light of the discount being applied. Would have rather paid the full amount minus the discount to get a decent portion that was edible. Won't be ordering through Deliveroo who were less than helpful or from this restaurant again. Warm service makes you feel like being home. Don't miss their home-made rice noodles, it is very delicious and impressive, better than any other Chinese restaurants in China Town. Roast duck and char siu are also very good. Not very sweet but really tender. I will come here again for their friendly service and delicious food.
Foods came out cold, not warm or hot at all, especially the har gow, they were barely cooked, they were doughy and cold. We waited 1 hour until our first drinks got served. Definitely my first and last time here
Such a warm & welcoming restaurant! The food is always delicious, piping hot and brought to the table super quickly. The £6 lunch is an absolute bargain, as is the Sunday Banquet. Highlights are the salt & pepper wings, chicken & sweetcorn soup!
We had an awesome experience dining here at The New Emperor Restaurant Manchester! The owner was kind enough to offer us special package at a very affordable price so we can try a lot on their menu. What we had was at the photo, plus a platter of their fried chicken which I must say is superb!
Shocking food and poor service. A dim sum platter for 2 consisted of 2 thin spring rolls, 2 empty wantons, 2 small dumplings, 2 tiny sui mai and a scattering of seaweed. £12. Expensive and poor quality bottles of wine. Almost nothing else in stock except Fosters. Special fried rice contained still raw beef and had to be sent back. Most of the waiting staff didn't know what the dishes were when they brought them. Clearly there is a reason the place was empty when we arrived.
Absolutely love this place. First time here and first time my partner has been to Manchester. Food lovely and fresh. Staff really Friendly and welcoming. Amazing prices and portion sizes were amazing will definitely be returning.
