Nice Chinese restaurant in China town. Visited this place at 8:30 pm but still be the long line there. Waiting for approx 20 min till we stepped inside. By the way , the food was serving quite fast so this made us feel better while we were so hungry. Definitely try their fried noodles with the great wok we can smell! This was my top choice. BBQ pork was good but the belly part already gone so the part we took not soft enough.
Duck was delicious, and good value for money. The salt and pepper prawns were nice but way too expensive I think like £17?. Will be going back for the duck!Food: 4/5
No frills in regards to the layout and decor of the restaurant, but it is clean - Mum even noticed how clean the menus were, it's a bugbear of hers. Quite clinical and not as homely as some Chinese restaurants can be, but it's all about the food. And the food was really good! Not perfect and proportions were all different, but very tasty and would definitely go back for more
I’m a huge huge fan of Happy Seasons often however this is the first I’m going to put a bad review mainly because of the pathetic service from the staff. I understand it’s not a fine dine restaurant but anyone who goes out for dinner with their family and friends would like to have nice time and not rush into things and act like a Robot because that’s what the staff makes you do. Happy seasons is always busy of course because of the excellent food they serve but that doesn’t mean one customer has to eat faster because restaurants has other customers in queue. Every customer is after all paying the money for the meal they are having. I was there with my family and we’re served main course before our soup and starters when we not only requested but the law of dinning says have soup and starters first and then meal. When we requested again to serve starters first, the lady from the staff arrogantly told that ‘there’s a long queue of customers and we don’t want to waste time. Soup and starters will take time to cook so have main course first’. Disgusting it is. When we’re giving food order to that staff lady, she was in so rush and didn’t even let us think or take time to go through the menu and even when we’re asking about the food delicacy or the ingredients or the spice level etc. she was rude and didn’t seem to be interested in responding. When we requested not to pour the additional salt that they do on top of cooked salt and pepper chicken, She very rudely and arrogantly replied saying ‘how do you know if we pour salt on top of it you can’t even see what our Chef’s do downstairs in the kitchen’ we said it’s not our first time here we love salt and pepper chicken it’s just that the additional crystal salt on top of chicken is too much. She still didn’t acknowledge it and said ‘yeah will see’. I felt like customers aren’t welcomed there even after paying for it. Very disappointing really. Overall feedback is serve your customers who are sitting already and eating well rather reminding them or making them feel that there are other customers in the queue. We don’t go to happy seasons to think about other customers because that’s not what I’m paying for rather I’m paying for the food and the service.
Delicious food and highly recommend coming for Chinese. Ordered the crispy duck, beef in vermicelli and satay sauce and the shredded pork noodles with added chilli and garlic. Came as a recommendation from the other half’s work colleagues and they didn’t disappoint. Not a fancy place at all and could do with making the place look nicer but the food is excellent for sure.
Quality of dim sum has dropped a lot. BBQ stuff were still good but way too expensive now. Very sad.... We shan't be wasting money and rushing back any time soonerFood: 3/5
Stopped by here to grab lunch before catching my train home. I ordered the 3 roast meat with rice. The roast meats were full of flavour. My friend ordered soy chicken with rice and that was tasty too. It’s a very busy place so best get there early or avoid busy dining hours. When it gets busy, it can be slow getting service. Will definitely visit this place to try the dim sum next time I’m back in Manchester. Vegetarian options: There’s a selection of vegetarian dishes Parking: Difficult to find parking in city centre. Kid-friendliness: Suitable for kids Wheelchair accessibility: Not suitable as there are stairs to the restaurant.
Gets very crowded around 6-7pm so best come a little early if possible. Duck is decent and is the most popular item on the menu with practically every table ordering it. The salt and pepper ribs or squid is good too and worth a try. Portions are on the larger side so consider that when ordering.Food: 4/5
Such a great place, staff are so friendly and happy. Love going here. Everything is cooked fresh and tasty. The chicken wings, prawn toast and chicken, lettuce wraps are to die for. Thanks ever so much for another great meal. See you again soon Food: 5/5
It is one of the best chinese restaurants in Manchester. There is always a queue outside as this place is very popular. The food tastes authentic and the staff offers very fast service. The prices are a little bit on the steep side, but once you have tried their food, you will pay every penny. Highly recommend their roast meat.
