New City Fish Bar

First time ordering and although delivery amazing and we got free prawn crackers we were not overly impressed with the food unfortunately Was quite bland and unfamiliar tastes to food which we have ordered elsewhere before. Said the curry was hot and spicy and it barely had any taste what so ever. Such a shame

Since the New City Fish Bar opened it has been our go to takeaway. I’m not sure why but tonight’s takeaway 4 Sept Order Nimber 163360 was dare I say tasteless, my wife and I both commented on how bland the meal was so I very much doubt if we will be returning. Back to the Happy Palace which was the previous favourite. Sad really but a takeaway these days is a real treat so disappointed it was no where near up to scratch. I don’t know how to add to the reply so editing my review, of course boiled rice is tasteless it’s just rice, the special curry had no taste whatsoever which I thought was odd because it’s a curry but sadly it was. I was a returning costumer as your food was very good but last nights was very much a poor example of your usual food quality.

I’ve just had a really disappointing cod and chips from New City Fish Bar!! The chips tasted the cardboard and there was a strange taste to the fish it didn’t taste off but definitely taste strange. My partner thinks the oil might have needed changing. It’s such a shame because I’ve had really nice meals from here both cod and chips and Chinese. It’s just made me not want to order from here because it’s 50/50 whether it’ll be nice or not. I’ll go else where now. Shame!! EDIT: in response to the owners comment, I am very familiar with the taste of salt and msg thank you as I like that taste, so this was not the taste I was referring to.

I ordered egg fried rice and ended up with really bad food poisoning! I was ill for about 4 days, and couldn’t eat anything again for over 48hours due to being so ill & being sick constantly, so would not recommend to anyone!!!

The best chip shop in filton, food brilliant. Taste amazing not greasy couldn't ask for better and price good aswell. Thank you

Really good to see New city open again, just had our first takeaway from here since the reopening and I have to say it's first class, both quality and quantity, and delivered before the stated time perfect . Update: now under new management and every bit as good.

So we ordered through Uber Eats app, an hour of waiting we rang the shop and they said they have 2 delivery drivers and was rude on the phone, we waited another 45 mins and still no food. Cause of them saying they are delivering the food we can't even get a refund. Never order from here they will steal your money and not attempt to deliver your food.

Very good and tasty food. We ordered veggie Chow mien, veggie fried rice, house special fried rice, bbq pork spare ribs, sweet and sour king prawn balls. Batter on prawns was perfect, thin and crispy. Ribs were large and succulent. Chow mien and rice dishes were delicious. Will use this restaurant again and again

Ordered our food at 5pm told it would arrive around half six. Called the restaurant at 7:30 told us it's on the way only to wait another half hour to call them again at 8pm where they stated they only have two delivery drivers and the food has been picked up. Food never arrived.

Ordered through Uber Eats app, waited 2 hours and 10 mins before it arrived. Called after 90 mins of waiting they said we were too far away 6 miles, we disputed and said we’re actually 2.9 miles away as that’s how far we are and she said the driver was on the way, still didn’t show up for another hour and 10 mins, she was rude on the phone also. We can't even get a refund because they kept pushing the arrival time back on Uber eats. Never ordering from here again
