First time here and the food was excellent. In the end we ordered way too many dishes but they were all really nice especially the clams and the lobster noodles. Will be going again but maybe order a bit less next time Food: 5/5
This is probably one of the best restaurants in town for dim sums. Apart from a large selection of traditional Cantonese dim sums, they also have their own special ones. We particularly like their mushroom buns & pudding with a fish on top. Totally quaint & fun. But like a lot of Chinese restaurants, service can be a bit rushed with strict time limits to leave the tables during peak hours.
Excellent Scotland lobster with cheese sauce noodles there are other ways you can have it cooked like stir fried lobster with ginger and chives or lobster with soup noodles, the lobster was super sweet and al dente. Other dishes are not bad too but compare to the lobster dishes it not really worth the value. Roasted duck was so so. Service wise is very friendly and quite efficient. Atmosphere was a bit old style chinese restaurant looking.
I LOVED the dim sum, it was my first time trying it and they were really juicy and just amazing. The service was good, ladies were nice and it was pretty quiet. Pictures aren’t the best but the food was so good. We tried some fried rice too and loved it.Food: 5/5
Dining there was such a wonderful experience. Delicious, fresh and flavoursome food, great customer service and a nice atmosphere. I can't wait to visit again. Thank youFood: 5/5
Authentic Chinese with very good food and a full turnout. Having been in the other Chinese restaurant options in London this one is top in all senses. Service was fast and dynamic but resto was rather on the quieter side. Might be worth pointing out that Dim Sum is only served for lunch. Will go back!Food: 5/5
Booked a private room to celebrate a special occasion and wanted the intimacy, which was perfect. SERVICE: Very attentive and our dedicated server, Leo was brilliant throughout the entire service. He had some good suggestions and was spot on with the quantity FOOD: It’s definitely not the cheapest but that reflects in the quality. We pre-ordered suckling pig 48 hours ahead. The dim sum starters was succulent and steaming fresh. The lobster noodle was some of the best I’ve had period they showed us them live first, and was so fresh and juicy. The fillet steak and aubergine and ginger chicken was tender. Presentation similar to the likes of higher end establishments. Try the Sweet & Sour pork on dry ice…perfect! Would return in a heartbeat!
The food and service were amazing. We tried the cantonese duck, dumplings and szechuan chicken. Great experience!Food: 5/5
There are days you just have to do dim sum! I have loved Royal China Club for many years now. The fun and welcoming team, the decor and some of the finest and different dim sum I’ve had anywhere in the world, that take me back to Hong Kong and Macau. On the outside, is a quiet and hidden exterior, like the misty visage of a har gau dumpling that conceals a delicious adventure inside. Light pours into the shiny red interior that’s decadently laid out with ponds of large banquet tables, brimming and bustling with choreographed staff and happy feasting guests. We’re warmly greeted by Peter, who welcomes me back. He’s the nicest person and seeing Carmen too, they both bring back too many good memories here. When getting the menu, I truly enjoy knowing that it will always have a page of seasonal dim sum specials, but am delighted to see so many additions throughout the menu, that I will say right now are incredible, vibrant and expertly created. First to land… the duck and black pepper pasties, which are light and buttery, are greeted with wagyu beef rolls in a spicy broth and fronds of mushrooms that give the dish a fine noodle texture. A similar familiar favourite are the sea bass rolls filled with cucumber and dressed in glass noodles. A punchy roasted chilli broth meets the fresh sea, which annunciates the whole meal of textures, colours and flavours to come. The traffic light party of steamed dumplings were stacked with a variety of orange translucent wine and lobster baubles, spicy prawn and green bean shoot style siu mai, and Shanghai soup dumplings filled with crab and pork that popped in the mouth. All too damn excellent that we couldn’t pick a favourite. A jazzy pink cheung fun with crisp tofu and mixed seafood bounced on the table like Elton John at the piano, whilst we enjoyed plump ravioli-like scallop dumplings, a staircase to heaven of radish cake, and the ever favourite prawn and mango rolls that are a bit like a more funky prawn toast, where the sesame seeds give a great nutty flavour. After commenting on the BBC’s ‘Great British Menu’ and a chef contestants custard lava buns, we had to finish off with some for dessert. Dark black, decorated in gold, the hot sweet custard excitedly exited the bun. A fitting end to all the pleasurable build up! I regret it’s been too long since I’ve returned with friends, family and my partner, who visited for the very first time and shared my love. Royal China Club does really ‘touch the heart’. I’ll keep coming back for the magical dim sum and seeing the team, who are a key ingredient to what makes this restaurant so special. Thank you team!
We went there with a group of 7, ordered around 15 dishes. The mix dim sum platter was good, the soup dumplings were nice. Crispy duck was one of the best I’ve ever tried in London, the skin just as crispy. Other things like fried squid, scallop and asparagus, mushroom and tofu were all good. The green veggie was surprisingly impressive to me. There were also a few things I was disappointed at: the abalone fried rice, no abalone at all only the sauce tasted like… the drunken chicken was too drunk, the pork meatballs were too soft and the seabass wasn’t too special… Overall, I still like the place although with the price I would expect something slightly better for the entire quality.
