This particular public house has gone through many changes over the years that I have lived in Neston. One of the previous owners treated it more like a holiday park and I felt spoilt the overlord character of the pub. However in recent years the present owners appear to have done a reasonably good job of attracting customer, making the pub friendly and welcoming, and providing a hearty but basic menu. Overall a decent pub, decent landlords and a pleasant and homely experience.

We were greeted by the landlord who was incredibly welcoming and by his wife who started a fire in the grate even though it was just after 12 and we were the only customers. We ordered a ploughmans and a Boise Burger (based on the SA Boise sausage ingredients). Both were fresh and wonderfully presented. This is a great find, off the beaten path away from the M4. But if you have time, turn off and visit. You won't be sad you did.

We had a great stay, nice room with a great pub. Had dinner there both nights we started as well as a full breakfast. Great food, and great people.

Great pub very friendly owners always welcoming and the food is always great to as I always eat it all LOL you have tried the rest now try the best pub from miles around

Quaint little country pub that turns out tasty food.. Friendly staff and lovely regulars. We were made to feel included as we arrived. Great for children and dogs too.
