Neasden Tube Station

Story

Neasden is a London Underground station in Neasden. It is on the Jubilee line, between Wembley Park and Dollis Hill. Metropolitan line trains pass through the station but do not stop, except on rare occasions. The Chiltern Main Line/London to Aylesbury Line runs to the west of the station.HistoryThe station opened on 2 August 1880 as part of the ongoing extensions to the Metropolitan Railway (this time to Harrow), with the name Kingsbury and Neasden. The name was changed to Neasden and Kingsbury in 1910, and then changed again to its current name Neasden in 1932, the same year Kingsbury station opened. After the Metropolitan Railway was taken into public ownership in 1933, train services to Stanmore were transferred to the new eastern branch of the Bakerloo line in 1939 and Metropolitan line trains ceased to stop at the station the following year. In 1979, the main service was transferred to the Jubilee line. The station's surface building is located in Neasden Lane. It has been extensively modified over the years, losing its original roof and high chimneys in the late 20th century, and a segment of the front was rebuilt around 1993 to remove a newsagent previously placed there. As well as the ticket office there are three ticket collection barriers and a single luggage gate (these were installed in the late 1990s; prior to this there were no barriers and just a gate), and the station also has a shop. The stairs from the surface building lead to four platforms. Platforms 1 and 4 are on the Metropolitan line, served on a few days a year for local events and when necessary due to disruptions to normal services. Platforms 2 and 3 were the northbound and southbound platforms for the Bakerloo line and since 1979 are now used by the Jubilee line. The platforms are constructed to "transition height" to allow regular use by tube trains of the Jubilee line and occasional (early morning, late night and during work on the line) use by the larger Metropolitan Line trains.

To dirty the station. Also you need to watch out when using your oyster i got scammed twice by those machines when touching the oyster. Its the only station where they took more money from my oyster than usually. That's machines always broken.
On the jubilee line. This station is located near the Neasden temple, Wembley Tesco and IKEA. There’s a last way you need to walk along to get to the north circular and at night it’s very scary as it’s not well lit. Not the safest route.
Standard outer Jubilee station, small and non-descript but it does have a store within.
Was followed from this station to Neasden shopping centre once and this was at 3pm! Awful, unsafe place.
This is the nearest tube station to the Tesco Extra store. I crossed two foot bridges over the Northern Circular to arrive at the store. A bit of a post industrial wasteland with fly tipping, heavy traffic, air pollution and noise.
The kind of abyss that really lives up to its reputation. Can't even begin to detail out the weird things, attempted robberies, and fights I've nearly gotten into right outside the station over the several years I've lived here and visited. Especially not a great spot if you're the kind of person like me who goes out late and comes home in the early morning hours. Also, just don't sit on the benches. Any of them. I can tell you from eye-witness experience that many of them have been thoroughly urinated on over the years. All in all, the station really embodies the general wasteland uncomfortable vibe you'll find yourself feeling no matter where you are in Neasden. Glad I could call it home for some years.
It is a Neasden. It's handy if you go to the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir. Borough of Brent and Bob Marley spent summer 1972 when he was touring with the wailers at 15 The Circle NW2 And Wembley stadium is not too far either .
I've been going to this station for a while now, I can say that the area surrounding the station isn't the greatest place, getting to the station is also difficult as there usually traffic on the road leading to the station, inside the tube station is generally clean however tube toilets aren't available which is a bummer for those who need to use public restroom.
The tube service itself is reasonable but the surrounding green area is unkempt and serves as a dumping ground for empty soft drink and beer cans. When will the land owner take control to stop this happening?
Filthy station full of beer cans and cigarette butts at the entrance! It looks like a train station in the poorest 3rd world country!! The shopping centre has few shops where you can't buy anything! As for the area it's very dirty ,desolate and the centre of gathering for drug addicts, beggars and alcoholics!! The most hideous ,dirty and urine smelling area on earth!!!! Avoid it at all costs!!!
