I went on a Friday morning so can’t comment what it’s like on a Saturday morning, but I had great service. Lots of staff ready to help. The lady that served me was very friendly and helpful :

Rude and unhelpful. Staff stood around chatting. And the bank does not even offer banking services on a Saturday, instead advise you to use alternative banks, really helpful.
I used the branch in Loughborough city centre. I frustrated to see 5 employees doing nothing and the only person that could deal with my request moving money to another bank account was stuck with a customer, nobody was proactive and just stood around. I had to wait 45 minutes after being told someone will be with you in 5 minutes. The quality of banking staff is as low as working at the tip yard!
Thank god they have automated cash / pay in machines, because the staff are slow and for business especially - clueless. Only once was I called in for a review, I accepted, waited for an hour solid to see someone, and left, then I got a phonecall on the way home saying I had missed it. Opening hours on a Sat are pointless. Used to advertise "Another Day" and have proper hours, then every 6 months they've taken an hour off the time, so anyone working until 6PM through the week, and half day on Sat like myself has no option but to go down on a lunch break as they close at 12:30. Their account manager for my business account suggested two different insurances for my business when I first set it up, and it was only around a year later when it was up for renewal I found out both were completely void and not needed for my type of business - costing me around £400 that year total. When I turned 18 ten years ago now I asked for a debit card and new current account. I was put on a 65+ phone-only plan no joke. Second time when I tried to do the same, I was given a 16 and under Solo-only account. Eventually once everything's running as you want it, they work fine, because you can ignore the staff and the phone calls, and just go down, pay money into a machine, and come out again, but god forbid you ever need to change your account or talk to something - you'll be let down nearly every time. When setting up my shop, I asked to add a trading name under my business account, and I was told what I'm doing was illegal and a UK business can't have more than two names. I told the guy he's an idiot and of course you can have trading names. NatWest uses dozens of them. I argued for 20 minutes before a manager told him that he was wrong. I got no apology, just "Oh they must have changed it". Absolutely clueless staff with bare-minimum business training. If it wasn't such a faff to set everything up with someone else, I would have moved away a long time ago.
Absolutely no help at all to the small business user. Only open 9-12.30 on a Saturday It was 4, then 2, now 12.30! Impossible to get there when you're working! Que for machines, broken, que again because of said machines so takes 25 mins just to put some cash and cheques in! Rubbish. And to too it all off one of the cashiers saud 'well at least we're open'!
I tried to make an online credit card on the website but it got blocked easily. After making an automatic refresh the website asked for my customer detail again and by the end of the day I have 2 application. I call to solve the problem and they send me to branch. At the branch, I was sent home to call because they don't have knowledge of how they can solve the problem...amazing.
Very inefficient. Spent 40 minutes registering my dads death with them a month ago. Today I went to log my power of attorney for mum to be told that they had not completed my request for my dad and lost all the paperwork, head offices fault? How do you lose death certificates, surely they are electronically copied and stored. I now have to visit again to go through it all again. This is the Natwest not a tin pot company.
I could not draw large amounts of monies out at the counter on Saturdays and now it is closed on Saturdays altogether. I also needed to put a cheque in the bank but again they are not open on Saturdays and only open 10am to 3pm...I am working 5 days a week 8.30am to 3.45pm so HOW do I put my cheque in or draw a large amount of monies out??
