I made an appointment at My Dentist, Parkstone Road after many years of not seeing a dentist and I couldn't have chosen a dentist with a worse bedside manner if it tried. I was also surprised to be told that after almost 10 years of not having any dental treatment that I only needed one filling and had no other problems other than slight gum recession that could be helped by not pressing too hard with my toothbrush and cutting down on sugary food. I asked if I needed to see a hygienist and my dentist told me "no, you obviously brush your teeth well and you do not need to see a hygienist." I was advised to come back in 6 months for a check up. Thankfully, I went to see an orthodontist a few weeks later who told me that i had bone loss due to bone recession and that I needed periodontal treatment or I would risk losing my teeth. As well as giving me the necessary treatment, my new hygienist has now re-educated me on correct brushing technique, which according to My Dentist was perfectly fine apart from the excess pressure I was applying. I did however see the other reviews with negative comments about the reception staff and I did not experience this. I found the reception staff to be reasonably friendly.

Nobody likes going to the Dentist!!! Most of us only see a Dentist as the last resort............the result of us NOT looking after our teeth properly!!!! I am guilty of this myself. I have nothing but praise for this Dental Surgery. The Reception Staff, in spite of a long queue of several 'awkward' patients, were very polite and both the Dentist and his Dental Nurse were very professional and sympathetic to my situation. Yes I have endured injections, some pain and discomfort....but that is what happens when you neglect your teeth and gums.I am feeling much better now.Thank You

Can't say I'm happy with these guys. I've had a wisdom tooth coming through for about 8 years now and my dentist is still refusing to take it out. Started with some pain on my left side then got so severe I couldn't sleep & he told me it's impacted then I had to wait 18 months for an x-ray to confirm this. it's been 8 years and my tooth is still not out and I've got to deal with 2 more impacted teeth aswel and hes just showing no concern whatsoever,so Im now looking into changing my dentists now. In a nutshell I don't recommend this company

This is the worst dentist I have been to. Back in 2009, I needed a filling on one side but the dentist claimed to fill my tooth (on the opposite side) with 'invisible filling'. For some reason I put my trust in her and believed that my problem had been solved as I was told to use toothpaste to fill my cavity. 4 Years later, I woke up with what felt like thunder and lightning in my jaw. i had never felt such pain, my face was swollen! I moved back to London where a new dentist told me that my teeth were in bad shape (the cavity caused nerve damage which spread to the next tooth) and would need root canal treatment and crowns on both teeth . Although it was on the NHS, he said it could cost me anything between £750 and £1000. I don't know whether he meant per tooth or not, but as I wasn't financially stable, I decided to postpone it. I visited a private dentist yesterday, who extracted one of my teeth (£540) and left the other as it wasn't as bad as the extracted tooth. The tooth now extracted was inn such bad shape that she told me that honestly, there would be nothing that she was be able to do. I'd find it it easier to dig a ditch with a fork, rather than obtain my records! I've been calling for someone to get back to me and still have not had a reply!! I THINK ONE STAR IS EVEN TOO MUCH!

I visited the MyDentist Poole practice today after being referred by 111 because of a painful tooth. When arriving at the practice the receptionist was currently dealing with another paitent. I found her mannerisms and attitude disguisting , when it was my turn she couldn't of been anymore rude if she tried. She asked me to provide a document which I do not physically have. I gave her a different document which would of sufficed. She turned her nose up me and threw a form over the counter at me to fill out. She gave me the wrong information as to where I was meant to go and when I went to sit down where she'd already told me to, she barked at me and told me to go upstairs. It's such a shame because the dentist I saw was absolutely amazing as I'm a very nervous patient and haven't been to the dentist in many years. But she most definitely lets down your practice! As the face that people see as the first port of call, her attitude was abismal. she should be polite and well mannered completely different experience to what I had at the same dentist in Winton. Where I will be attending for further treatment.
