Our first horse race — and we’re so glad we chose to experience it in Scotland! We had such a great time at Musselburgh Racecourse. The view was great, and the free shuttle from parking was easy and comfortable. We even had an amazing chat with the parking attendants — they were so friendly and welcoming, which really set the tone for the day.nnWe saw several races, and even though it was a bit drizzly, about half of the general admission seating is covered, so we stayed pretty dry. The fish and chips were delicious, and the overall vibe was just fun and relaxed. 10/10 experience!
Musselburgh is a nice race course and offers jump racing during the winter and flat racing in the summer.nIt is definitely worth a visit.nUnfortunately today it rained so heavy at times so thankful for coffees in the Rockavon Bar all part of the facilities on offer.
Great day at the races. You can get a bus or Uber from Edinburgh . Good value to attend . Staff were friendly throughout . Great mix of people on groupnParty’s or those that know what they are doing.
An absolutely wonderful day out! Excellent for families, couples, anyone who loves horses, and the excitement of racing. Very well organized and well laid out, lots of food options, lots of seating for those who need it. Loved previewing the horses in the paddock before placing my 2 pound bet. Highly recommended!
I visited the races on 1 Feb. It was my friend Peter Murray's 80th birthday celebration and he had a room in Punters restaurant. The whole experience from the very friendly welcome right through to a cheery farewell on departure was an absolute pleasure! Every single member of staff was helpful and polite, but I should give a special mention to Sarah Cowan who went out of her way to take us out into the parade ring. We were even allowed to judge the best presented horse for one race and have our photo taken with the trophy for that race. What a wonderful experience it all was and it gave my friend a fantastic memory of the day! A very big thank you to everyone involved!
