The museum is situated a short walk from New Street train station. Beautiful historic building located in Chamberlian Square, admission is free. When we arrived the Ozzy Osborne exhibition was on display. This museum is worth a visit even if its just for the history of Birmingham, cultural and historical items.
The museum was outstanding. Very clean, staff were very knowledgeable and friendly, and very considerate when providing assistance, especially to those with additional support needs.nThere's portable chairs behind the doors, a great personal touch when you're spending a few hours in there.nnI visited from Manchester to see the Ozzy Osbourne exhibition, the Made In Birmingham exhibition, and paid in to see Giants whilst I was there. Highly recommend and will be returning in the future.nnGift shop was great, with lots of different quirky items connected to the exhibitions.
Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is absolutely amazing and deserves 5 stars. The collection is vast and diverse, ranging from stunning art pieces to fascinating historical artifacts, making it perfect for anyone with an interest in culture or history. Every visit feels like a new adventure, with something different to explore each time. The exhibitions are thoughtfully curated, the displays are clear and informative, and the atmosphere is welcoming and inspiring. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable, making the experience even better. A truly wonderful place to spend hours exploring and appreciating art and history.
We went here primarily to visit the Ozzy Osbourne exhibition. It's a lovely building packed with character. We had amicable interactions with 3 members of staff and one invited us to join a behind the scenes tour. Great place for exhibitions and the Ozzy one was fab!
My first visit to the museum. It exceeded my expectations. Pre Raphaelite exhibition was really good. The Staffordshire hoard was very intetesting but my favourite was the history of Birmingham. Also the tearooms are well worth a visit. Reasonably priced coffee and cake.
