When in Birmingham City Centre recently I popped into the Museum to see an exhibition that had been discussed on radio. Great exhibit but far too small on weather British Empire was a good thing or not. Depends on which side of the Empire you were on I suppose. It was certainly good for the tiny little island of GB. Would have liked to have seen more material as what was exhibited was thought provoking. Access is easy once you find the access point with all the building work going on around the Museum. There is a lift at street level for those with disabilities. There are also two cafes in site, the lively Tearooms and a smaller white cube affair. Good range of snacks and meals. The gift shop is lovely and has a lot of products, including books on Birmingham. I didn’t feel the vibrancy that I feel in anyone of the London or Manchester museums.

Brilliant museum and art gallery. I entered somewhat hesitantly, but was sure glad that I did. You are immediately greeted by wonderful artwork and this just sets the tone. The exhibition on black people in Birmingham was really good. I enjoyed the Egyptian section as well as the buried treasure exhibit with the various finds and the swords on display really intrigued me. The mummification process was interesting along with the things found in the tomb. The trinkets from ancient Egypt really caught my attention. This place is worth the visit. One more thing, the stained glass window display was amazing and just beyond that was the children's section which was a really good addition.

Was great you definitely need a few hours to get round the whole museum to see it all might take more than half a day! We'll be back to visit again soon my children especially enjoyed the interactive aspects of the museum like the electronic photo boards and the telephones you could listen to stories of different children with jobs in the olden days bit. Such an interesting place. I am a big fan of peaky blinders so find Birmingham's history really interesting.

I loved this place. The museum side is excellent, particularly around the history of Birmingham and the Saxon Hoard. The galleries have a really nice Victorian feel. The Edwardian Tea Rooms are the icing on the cake. Whilst the food and drink portions are quite small the quality is good and the atmosphere is amazing. Well worth a visit if you're in Birmingham centre.

Went there for an exhibition and fun afternoon. There were stories, poems, arts and crafts around food and faith. I told my macaroni and cheese story. We then shared pistachio biscuits. Then we went around to the boardroom where we had cakes and tea. Yet again I took the cakes for Shirley s Tribe which were meeting later. An enjoyable afternoon surrounding by ancient and modern old and new life. The staff are friendly exhibits and activities are interested not just multi cultural
